I'm so disappointed in this location.
I just moved to this area and was stoked to see a Dutch near my house #FistPump That excitement was tampered down with the first sip of my coffee. It was so HORRIBLE!!! I spit it out. I was already on the highway heading to work & didn't have time to go back but didn't give it a 2nd thought because Dutch has awesome customer service, right? Wrong. They replaced my coffee, yes but with a grump and a shrug instead of the normal Over-The-Top-In-Your-Face-Friendliness that Dutch is known for. Strike 2.
Strike 3 came on my next (& now final attempt) trip to this location. I remembered to bring my own cup with me (yay me). I ordered my regular coffee and handed him my cup. There wasn't any "how's your day going" conversation while they made my coffee; there wasn't any conversation with me because they were all too busy chatting with each other to actually provide any customer service. They were perfunctory at best.
When I was told my total I wasn't given a discount for my own cup. When I asked about it, I was met with a blank stare & "we don't do that." Interesting because not only does every other Dutch I've been to do that but it's pretty much an industry standard. He finally agreed & discounted my order 25 cents.
As I handed him my card I told him that I didn't have a punch card because I filled up the last one. That got no response from him. I was handed the iPad to sign & give my card back. As he turned and began to walk away, I asked for a new punch card (since he ignored my first request). I was given one with no convo, no "thank you", nothing.
This was so not Dutch & I was thoroughly disappointed so I called to speak with their customer service department. They listened to my story, agreed this wasn't the Dutch standard and took my info so the local owner could call me back. A week or so later and I still haven't heard from anyone. When I called their customer service department again to inquire as to status of my previous call, I was told that their records indicate that the owner did call me and left me a message. Negative ghost rider, no call, no voicemail, nada. We confirmed my number was correct (which it was). So a FLAT OUT LIE by the owners? Instead of providing direction to their employees and service to their customers, they lie to cover their a**?
What are we at? Strike 5?
This doesn't seem like a good business model but who am I? It's not like I have a couple degrees in related fields or that I've been working in a customer service environment for over 25 years, including management/directorial capacity. I guess it's different when you're using your own money; you have a sense of detachment & disinterest in providing service to the people that you opened your business for????

Read moreI used to go to Dutch Bros in Tualatin, OR, when I lived there. Every time I went, they were so INCREDIBLY nice, and the boss was ALWAYS there to help out and was a super sweet guy. The Dutch Bros in Kelso has good customer service , but it's not quite the customer service that I was used to in the many Oregon stores I'd visited, especially the Tualatin store.
I'd busted my leg a couple of years ago, and can no longer drive. I live in Longview, and only make it to the Kelso dutch bros on occasion. Most of the time they are good to me and my friends. I'm sad that the price of Iced Kickers went up (they were 2.00 in Oregon, 3.00 here). I always order 2, because even though I could make it cheaper by ordering one and adding the extra 2 shots, they taste just perfect on their own. I guzzle the first one down, and the second one I just sip on and enjoy. And still the price of a drink at Starbucks!
My husband has always loved the ER-911 (which I believe is 6 shots of espresso). He guzzles it right down! (How, I have no idea). I've tried nearly everything on the menu, I'm not crazy about the ER911 and I didn't care much for their energy drink (straight out of the can), and I haven't tried any of the kids stuff either. But everything else I've tried has been so delicious, with the Iced Kickers being the favorite. Also, they have a thing where you can sign up to get texts from them about their specials, and they have some EXCELLENT specials. usually just a discount on a certain drink, or certain kinds of drinks...but there have been bigger ones, like bring in three cans of food and get a free drink, or come in on a certain day and pay more than 4.00 for a drink and get a card with 9 stamps (and you can order as many as you like to get as many cards as you like).
All in all, I'm so incredibly grateful to have a Dutch Bros here. I heard one may be opening up fairly close to my home, and I certainly hope that's the case!!!
Oh, and one more thing, I haven't been able to get a hold of them via this phone number listed on the page. It's just ALWAYS busy, like they left it off the hook. However, I have found that emailing them through Facebook works sometimes. However, you may not always get the correct answer to your question. They are still very very...
Read moreDutch Bros has figured out, when you have good drinks, mine being the coffee, you're going to get lines. How to get those lines down, by having an employee take orders from people's cars, by the time you get to the window, your drink is done. The friendliest baristas around. I am partial to the Kelso Dutch Bros being so close to the freeway, they have people coming from the freeway and thus busier and can get the cars in and out faster-maybe. They are the smaller of the three coffee places, but have been here the longest. And for the loyal regulars, they offer you a card to be stamped ten visits and on the eleventh with your card, you get a free drink. I've used that to experiment with their ever changing by the month drink menu. Even after the month, you can get the drink, which I'm partial to Ninja.....which way back when tasted like Christmas in a cup. So if you need a pick me up physically-coffee or rebel, and mentally, they realize there's a line so how your day going just might be what you need, come to...
