For Peruvians and people who have traveled to Lima, Peru, they must know how you can find a Rotisserie Chicken place almost anywhere in Lima, like, it'd be a 5 minute walk from wherever you are, and if you want to remember the taste of a good peruvian rotisserie chicken, then El Tambo Grill is your choice. Located in the Sunset Dr. (72nd street) and 117th Avenue, this place prepares one of the best (if not the best) Peruvian rotisserie chicken (in Spanish Pollo a la Brasa) in Miami. Eating in this place won't be a disappointment, a must go for everyone who loves Peruvian food, specially Pollo a la Brasa. Edit: it's been a while since I visited El Tambo, 2 years since my last review, and the score remains the same for me. 5 stars, great menu, the pollo a la brasa still great, the size of the plates is amazing, and the price is good. Definitely one of the best Peruvian restaurants of Miami, where you can actually eat Peruvian food. I've been in other places that said we're Peruvian restaurants but their food packed the Peruvian touch that would leave you satisfied, not El Tambo though, you'll definitely be satisfied eating here.

My aunts told me this was a great peruvian restaurant and seeing the long crowds, it seemed true but unfortunately it was only average in quality. They do have a great variety of items and pricing seemed fair but i have had better peruvian food in Miami (which i have also reviewed). Just like reviewing pizza with a basic cheese slice, i tried a common dish that most Peruvian restaurants served which is a simple “lomo saltado”. The steak should be well seasoned and stir fried but this place had their steak tips drowning in sauce like it was beef stew. The texture of the meat was also similar to beef stew so it seemed boiled instead of stir fried. Their seafood platter was delicious which is definitely better than any peruvian restaurants i have tried before so there are some inconsistencies in how food is prepared. This is my first time here so I don’t know if this is their usual quality or a personnel issue cause some restaurants leave their best chefs for the heavy dinner times. I might try this place again if in the area but I won’t seek it out.

Mostly quite delicious! The items I ordered were the Pollo a la Brasa, Salchipapas (hotdog and fries), arroz chaufa de pollo, and the aguadito de pollo (soup). The pollo a la Brasa was absolutely tasty. As of the date of posting, it is the 4th best Pollo a la Brasa that I have tasted when comparing close to 50 other chicken restaurants in the east of America. Supposedly, they use the same machines to make the rotisserie chicken, so that's why their Pollo a la Brasa is top notch. In addition, the Salchipapas are the best I've ever had; juicy, a little too salty, big, and the portion was good for the price. Unfortunately, the Arroz chaufa de pollo (chicken fried rice) was extremely decent. It was certainly below my mother's peruvian cooking. The aguadito was very bland; the poorest of all the choices we had. Overall, it's a good peruvian restaurant that I would recommend for the Pollo a la Brasa and that only. If you want to eat scrumptious and more authentic peruvian dishes, you can most certainly find other restaurants, especially in Miami.

After years of ordering and spending my money at this restaurant, a resident of the area, great tipper by the way, tonight I was mistreated and bullied for no valid reason, or any fault on my part. I’ve called and order pick up orders before on the phone, so noticing it was 30-40 mins to closing time and already on my way, I called and tried to have my order done and ready, ALSO (believe it or not) figuring it was Sunday and they’d be exhausted, tired, and ready to go home. The order (given to the manager on site on this particular date) would not be taken, even though I’m certain I’ve order ahead of time, given my phone number and such, and never ever had I not shown up nor left any outstanding orders. Still she would not take it. I finally show up, with 10 mins to spare but there’s a 3 person line so it takes THEM a few minutes to get to me, I’m paying cash. So when they finally, with a rude tone THROUGHOUT, said the “person who makes the ceviche is no longer here she left for the day”. Bear with me there’s more. I explained I had called ahead, well after asking for the manager, she admits she took my call, but refuses any notion any order of mine was EVER taken over the phone to be paid at the restaurant upon food being picked up. Anyway, they keep trying to drive me out of the restaurant telling me there’s only “chicken left, so what do you want”. Well this is what I want: during these times of hardship, chronic illness, unemployment, money being scarce and so on, I wouldn’t try to show up late just so I can make your lives hard, but I would appreciate you respecting whatever money I have left I’m spending there on a Sunday when I have so many other options. Well I will not, on principle, ever go there again, nor anyone from my family. It’s in times like these, that the best of our humanity must prevail. All these business, jobs, lives that have been affected by them closing and going out of business , through no fault of their own, goes to show you how much clients should be appreciated...and yes I still left a tip. Goodbye...

NOT PET FRIENDLY AT ALL !!!!! Since my residency in Miami it has been a great place were I could eat with my family, nice pollo a la brasa, nice ceviche, really good food. But they are not pet friendly at all, they kicked us out of the restaurant, we were in a situation of moving to another city and we couldn't leave our dog alone in the house, we didn't have a place to leave it. So we wanted to eat and decided to take the dog. The dog was inside a pet carrier it wasn't bordering anybody. The kicked us out , because one of the customers asked for us to be out. I'm so disappointed of the place, they didn't even apologize.... I'm mad because the dog didn't deserve to be treated like that. Also we were hungry and tires and they didn't take it in account.

Visit 3-5-2017 I invited 5 of my neighbors we placed our order at 15:19:08 in the amount of $84.33, second order on 3-5-2017 in the amount of $10.32 a total of close to $100.00 To my disappointment at 4:00, 45 minutes later we got one part of the order, ten minutes later the another part of the order. So I went to speak with the manager and he said some things took longer I explained to him that when you go to a restaurant with some guests we all want to eat together and all food together. He never went to the back. Ten minutes later another part, and ten to fifteen minutes later another part of the initial order. AT 16:41:59 I went to the cashier and requested to be refunded the part of the order that was never given to us an 1 1/2 hour later. In the hour and a half that I was there I spoke to manager twice, and to the employees that give the food like 5 or 6 times. It's a shame they are very much concerned about if you are paying cash or credit but sure not concerned at all about your order. They got the money on there side forget about the order they'll wait. Well sorry to say I'm not waiting any longer and requested my money back. If more people would do this I'm sure the owner would get involved and be on top of things. It's not all about getting the money you should be concerned about service. Hope you guys start doing better and get involved in what's happening in your...
