If I could give zero stars I would. I booked an appointment nearly a month ago for a much-needed haircut after a traumatic experience where someone cut half of my hair with a blade. I confirmed the appointment the day before and on the day of, I explained my situation clearly. I was in Colombia when this happened, and since then, I’ve been wearing braids to manage the damage. I was recommended this stylist by a friend and never checked her website beforehand. When I arrived with my braids, she immediately said she couldn’t do my hair because of them. I offered to remove the braids myself if she could just trim my hair to even it out, but she refused. This was incredibly frustrating, especially after I spent $20 on Uber rides each way. She then rudely insisted that her policy required clients to come with their hair washed and dried, something she never mentioned in any of our previous communications, something I still have saved. She accused me of not reading the website, which is unfair because I didn’t even find her online. Throughout the whole encounter, she showed zero empathy and was downright rude. Yani is hands down the BEST for any type of curly hair. I first went to her with zero knowledge of what products to use on my fine and thin 2b/c hair nor how to care for it. She took the time to show me what products are best for my hair type and helped me grow my hair longer and fuller!! I sadly have since moved to New York and after getting bad haircut up here that messed up my hair and curl pattern, I will use my airline miles to go see Yani every 6 months!! Even after someone else messed up my hair, Yani has managed to get it back on track and my curls are coming back to life!! I have been going to her for years now and there's no one I'd recommend more....

I will follow Yani to the ends of this earth. She’s been my stylist for the better part of the last 8 years. She has a keen, scientific knowledge of how to care for curly hair which is why I kept her! Her new salon is cozy, clean and very tidy.
