I stumbled in while getting some dental work across the street. I am visiting from Texas and have been wanting to try Peruvian food in Miami because I’ve heard great things!
This place has great lunch specials with about 6 items to choose from. Today’s daily special (Wednesday) was ceviche! One of my favorite Peruvian dishes. It was a huge portion for only $11.99! The fish was fresh and so tasty.
I added an empanada for $1…it was the best empanada I’ve ever had in my life. The nice woman taking care of me said it was made as the same taste of their lomo saltado, Which I think is the special on Tuesday.
The empanada was crispy on the outside but had this delicious moist beef I have on the inside. The sauce that came with it was amazing as well. I was shocked. I’ve had many empanadas in my life but they just don’t compare to this one. It was pretty big too!
I also ordered the yuca a huancaina which was also delicious and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I loved the cheese sauce that came with it.
I had a fresh passion fruit (maracuya) drink that was so delicious and refreshing. My bill for all of this came out to $25.
The service was quick and sweet! This is a family owned restaurant. It’s very clean and very cute on the inside. I definitely recommend you come here for lunch, brunch, dinner, or happy hour! Sooooo good! And get that empanada.
Tienes que comer aquí! Estaba delicioso todo, a buen precio, y mucha comida!!! Mejor empanada de mi vida que sabe a...

Ordered on postmates they took 1.5 hours to make 2 dishes+tostones so we waited 40 minutes inside the restaurant (empty minus one drunk lady screaming on FaceTime at the bar) for them to make our order past the time the app told us it was done. They told us they only had one person in the entire kitchen so we felt bad about the poor management they are suffering from and stayed, we did not complain. 50 minutes later when we got home the food was cold, stale, and honestly disgusting. My fiancé took one bite of his lomo saltado (his favorite meal) and spit it out and exclaimed “this is GROSS!” Not only was it cold but he said the texture was so hard he couldn’t chew it. The fries were stale too. My aji de gallina had oil separation when I opened it so it honestly looked kind of like vomit, and when I mixed it around to try and savage it I realized it had little to no chicken. The rice was so hard it was either uncooked or 2 days old.
So disappointing. I feel bad for the people who work there. Clearly something is very wrong. We threw the whole order in the trash and are headed to Sports Grill. I don’t want to see Peruvian food...
Read moreBeing new to Miami-Dade we wanted to find a Peruvian cuisine restaurant that we would enjoy as much as the ones we frequented in Broward.
At lunch this Saturday, Machupicchu on Sunset exceeded what we sought by every measure.
For an appetizer we shared the Pork Tamal and it was more than big enough for two! It was very nicely presented on a green leaf, flavorful with juicy tender pork inside. Every bit as good as any corn tamal we have ever had anywhere.
We also ordered Seco de Carne con Frejoles (chunks of meat in a cilantro sauce served with white beans and white rice) and Chuleta de Cerdo (grilled pork chop – comes with 2 sides).
There is no question that we will order both of these dishes again – after we sample the rest of their very ample and interesting menu. (Except for Tuesdays when they are closed). There are also weekday lunch specials and the Lomo Saltado has me looking forward to next Monday!
Machupicchu offers a delicious menu (available for take-out and delivery) that varies nicely from that of most of the restaurants in the area and you can be assured you will enjoy the food and...
