Miami's Cuban Bakery — Restaurant in Kendall

With all the commotion in my house I rarely get enough sleep/rest so by the time I get something to eat it's noon. While family is making Cuban coffee, I get my pastries etc at Galaxy Bakery and at that hour it's slim pickins. They may have 2 pan Cubanos and a dozen pastries. But what I really miss out on is my chocolate Senoritas - they never have any by the time I get there. 😢

So anyways the ladies that work behind the counter are courteous and graciously tolerate my Spanglish - I took a couple semmesters of Spanish roughly 34 years ago, but when I hear my voice it sounds atrocious.

So the Cuban half of my family is generally content with the sweets, though we've never tried the food or coffee so jury is out for that.

The baked products (croquetas, pastelitos, tequenos, etc.) are not bad. The issue I have is that they need more employees. If they can't find more help because of job market conditions, then employees in the back (production) should come out and help. There are usually only 2 girls taking care of customers. On top of the in-store customers, they are also busy preparing orders for 3rd party vendors (Ubereats, Doordash, etc.). I have often walked in, and left after waiting several minutes and realizing it would take too long for me to be served. I have also witnessed several other customers leave as well because of the long line. Bottom line... ownership/management needs to do a better job expediting customer orders. I used to love this when I first moved to Florida this was my fav bakery!!! Now I have changed my mind. They have people working there who are def not fit for the job. Today I walked in and I felt like I was in cuba once again with the bad attention and the unprofessional response. There was a huge line of about 8 people. Instead of helping us the two people who were there. One was washing dishes in front of everyone and the other one on the phone. Every one else working there. I also asked to speak to a manager or owner and they told me they were too busy to attend me. Excuse me? I gave this place a couple of tries and today was the 3 rd time I walked out of there without buying anything. Worst place. This time I walked out and lost me...
