The man who was making the donuts rolled meaning he handled his business, emptied out of the older donuts and replaced the whole case immediately. The menu is great from breakfast to lunch. I was baffled when the man b4 me ordered smother okra and rice! I love smother okra. I had a big breakfast which includes grits or hash browns hot sausage egg and cheese with 3 pancakes. The pancakes were small looks like the frozen ones from McDonald's, with a half of dozen of glazed donuts Now all sounds great right. Though I love breakfast I couldn't really enjoy my food because this Tastee is in Kenner this was well after 1 am. Mind you I ordered for my friend also who sat in the car with my babies. My order was 17 & change. Her order was 27 & change. She had a dozen of glazed donuts 4 bacon egg and cheese croissant which they only had one croissant left so the other 3 was on toast. We didn't find that out untill after like 10 /15 minutes after order was placed. By the time I left Kenner and made it home to New Orleans my food was cold and we still haven't eaten the pancakes. The donuts were still delicious...
Read moreI had never been here when it was Tastee Donuts, but now that it’s Big John’s Donuts, I’m glad I finally stopped in! The donut selection is huge – we ordered wedding cake, Boston cream, Napoleon, blueberry crumble, and apple crumble, and every single one was fresh and delicious. I’ve seen people online joke that the area isn’t the best, but my real experience was different. I walked in with my 2-year-old and saw moms bringing their kids for burgers, families waiting for their donut orders, and a shop full of smiles. The staff was friendly, service was great, and the vibe was welcoming. And here’s what makes it even better: Big John’s is open 24/7. If you’re craving donuts late at night or early in the morning, this is the place to go in Kenner. As someone who also enjoys great local food in Kenner, I can honestly say this town is lucky to have spots like Big John’s for donuts, and The Original Italian Pie for pizza, calzones, sandwiches, and pasta. Whether it’s a sweet tooth fix or a full meal, Kenner has some amazing local restaurants worth...
Read moreThis place has very good food, and a lot of options to say that it is a donut shop. You can go here and get everything from breakfast to dinner, and of course donuts. They have very interesting donuts, such as king cake donuts and banana pudding donuts. As far as the food, you can get things like breakfast of course, stuffed bell peppers, chicken fried steaks, red beans and rice, hamburgers and po' boys, seafood sandwiches and meals, etc. And everything is very delicious! Now the downside is, the visit can be very ratchet. Lots of youngsters come here from clubbing which to some can be perceived as an unsafe environment. And the staff can appear to be unpleasant at times. Even though I had a great experience with the staff, I believe their rough exterior presence and attitude stems from the wild crowd of youngsters, that probably come in high from drinking and drug usage, therefore the staff have to appear to be rough and tough. Other than that the food is amazing and the options are plentiful! Major kudos...
