We were traveling through and reviews looked pretty good so we thought we'd try it for breakfast. We were greeted by a young lady and told to sit wherever we'd like. There's a sign up front saying don't forget your bloody mary or mimosa. I thought, "don't mind if I do". So I asked the server when she came to take our drink order if I could see a drink menu for what kinds of mimosas they have. She explained she was underage and would go get the bartender to take my drink order. My husband ordered coffee. The bartender finally came over about 15 mins later and asked "what do you need?". I asked what kind of mimosas do you have. She said "huckleberry," and I said yes I'd like that, without wanting to hear the rest of the flavors. She brought me an orange juice mimosa and I was really confused, because I expected huckleberry. She said it is flavored with huckleberry vodka. Usually huckleberry mimosas are champagne with a splash of huckleberry syrup in it. Well it ended up being too strong and with the acidity oforange juice which I really didn't want. She said she does have huckleberry sauce but she thinks it ends up being too sweet that way, that's why she gave me huckleberry vodka instead. It actually was way too tart so I didn't drink it.
The bartender took our order. I wanted the Montecristo but it is served with turkey and ham so I asked if it could be made with just ham but she said it was pre-made so that wouldn't be possible. I thought "yuck, why would anyone want a pre-made montecristo so I ordered a mini breakfast of bacon and 1 egg over medium with sour dough toast and homefries. My husband ordered bacon and eggs over easy with hashbrowns and white toast.
Another 15 minutes goes by and the food comes. My egg was almost fried hard, the homefries got slapped on the grill just long enough to be warm, but were just sad chunks of white potato without any crisp on them and I ended up with one piece of white toast while my husband had two pieces of sourdough which he doesn't like. I traded him my single white piece for one of the sourdough as that is what I ordered.
We ate our food completely and no one came to check back with us. My husband's coffee got cold and he was never offered any additional coffee.
All in all, this place is just ok. Nothing special but not terrible. I think it is a "locals" place as the server knew a few people's names. I feel like the locals/regulars probably get preferential service here. I wouldn't say to avoid this place, but it wasn't busy and the service was lackluster. If you just want average food, with mistakes and slow service, this...
Read moreOkay, I have absolutely no idea HOW I haven't dropped a review and I'm so mad at myself! I've been here 3 times and it has always been very, very good! I swear, the waitress or the owner should slap me right now and I'd be totally fine with it. I should've dropped a review a loooong time ago!
First thing is first, the atmosphere. My parents love it here. This is a restaurant where the majority of clients are elderly and I absolutely adore that. I love the elderly. I could hug them all. I love smiling at them and saying hi. Seeing them smile makes me so happy.
Second, the service is wonderful. The waitresses are so attentive even when busy. They've never messed any of our orders up and always bring whatever we request. We specifically asked for extra creamer and they brought us A LOT more! I was in awe for the spoil. Big tipping.
Third, the food. I love it all. The chicken fried steak, the fluffy eggs, the enourmous pancakes, the crispy hash browns, the amazing bacon! So crispy, so well cooked and specifically how I like my bacon. The coffee is incredible. It has a very good amount of strength and unique flavor profile. No idea what the coffee brand could be but it is a very excellent choice!
I have been here 3 times and I can't wait to come back again. Thank you so much Hill's for the...
Read moreWhile I truly miss the history and familiarity with the original, the new digs look very much the same, just upgraded a bit. So, the casual, but wonderfully comfortable, ambience remains. The bathrooms are beautiful and pristine. The food is fabulous! Even better than I remember. The bar is way nicer than it was, though! And, even nicer still, as it's one of the quietest as well. But, just like the food... The drinks were nearly as great as I remember, and they were already the best drinks, AND best value, in the Tri-Cities; however, the drinks are also even better than I remember! Thank you, Breanne (and cook that night) for being so lovely and helpful, and for the most yummy Eggs Benedict I've had in a decade (thanks to your "off-the-menu" suggestions for my cravings). I also greatly appreciate your loaded Washington Apple suggestion. It was delicious! But, if I would've known the Eggs Benedict would be so freaking awesome, I would've chosen your first suggestion, the loaded mimosa (I think). I guess I'll have to...
