I hate that I have to give this company even 1 star. Do not order from this company! I ordered online crab cakes to be sent to a family member for Christmas. Put my order in, paid, and ship date was to be Dec 13th. T hey charged my card and my order stayed in pending status ever since. Tried call8img customer service several times only to get an answering machine where they sat to leave a message and they will return your call. They never did. Sent emails through their website which they never responded to. They give no option on their site to cancel order (which I needed to do at this point to order from somewhere else so I could get this gift to my aunt by Christmas.) So I had to disputed the charge with my bank. A charge they already posted even though they never even completed my order. I reordered with Chesapeake Bay crab cakes today, paid, and they already have order ready to be shipped with notifications on tracking and will be delivered in time for Christmas. Which Chesapeake bay does not even finalize the charge until it's delivered! They have shipped on the day they said it would be shipped. And I even called customer service after ordering and spoke to an actual person! Do not trust ordering from Kent island...
Read moreI am surprised by the negative reviews and photos. When I place and receive my order it has been a positive experience from start to finish. My orders are always received in a styrofoam cooler that is packed with dry ice in a closed plastic bag and the cooler is wrapped in a plastic type wrap. The cakes are in a cardboard like box and they are enclosed in a Ziploc type bag. The box of crab cakes are then enclosed in a plastic wrap. I always have FROZEN cakes and a good chunk of dry ice left. The photos on their website are EXACTLY what my cakes look like upon receipt. The photos shown on those reviews look like ones purchased from a grocery store. Kent Island went by another name years ago and a another company bought that name and started making shoddy crab cakes. ...
Read moreI have ordered from this family business for years and have never ever been disappointed! The quality is stellar and I'm from The Chesapeake Bay area... I've read some of the negative reviews AND THEY ALL HAVE A COMMON THREAD OF POOR SHIPPING! I supervise a similar mail order business and am constantly facing shipping challenges. What happens with our product when it leaves my facility is of my concern...but it's not my job! The important thing is I answer the phone and try to make the wrong..right.
