Tasty Toucan Handcrafted Ice Cream and Paleta-Pops! — Restaurant in Maryland

Really good ice cream at good prices! I love that their fruit flavors have chunks of fruit. One of my peeves with ice cream shops is when their fruit flavors are just that, flavors. They did not disappoint with the significant chunks of peaches in the peaches and cream and a good ratio of fruit to ice cream.

I was also really happy with their pricing. $3.75 + tax for a double scoop in a small cone seems so reasonable compared to how my wallet usually feels at a quaint ice cream shop. I think their milkshakes were closer to $7 but they were quite large and, at least the buckeye one, had quite a lot of candy chunks in it.

Unrelated to the ice cream, they also have some really great driftwood art on the walls and outside, much of which is for sale. Mostly whales and moons. The whale out front is fantastic.

This is a great stop when coming across the bridge, especially if you're waiting out a traffic jam, which they, in fact, have a shake...

Located in the quaint Historic District of Stevensville, Tasty Toucan is a colorful change of pace to downtown vendors without feeling out of place. It just belongs. And, as the owners emphasize, they want their patrons to feel a sense of belonging too. Aspiring to build real relationships with their patrons - beyond just knowing your favorite flavors - this family run business will make you feel at home. Although, admittedly, my home never had ice cream THIS delicious. They have so many flavors to to choose from including Beans and Cream with real expresso beans, Coconut Joy with real coconut and Vanilla Bean that is everything but plain.

Tasty Toucan provides a reprieve from everyday life. An experience sure to help you forget your woes, at least until you reach the bottom of the cone. A word of advice, if you want to forget about life for a while - better...

I used Tasty Toucan to cater ice cream as dessert for my son's wedding this past weekend. They were amazing! They brought their cute ice cream cart and hand scooped for the guests which was such a nice touch. Everyone loved all the flavors. It was wonderful that the guests had choices of flavors and cones or cups. They even brought fruit flavored popsicles for those who were dairy free. (I didn't even consider this) The owner of this ice cream shop is so wonderful to work with! I would give this business ten stars if I could.
