The worst customer service I have experienced, ever. Showing up on a Sat morning for the breakfast special, I found an empty bar, and an unatentive staff. After waiting for over 5 minutes while the only server kept up idle conversation with one of 4 customers, I dared to ask for a menu. I was told she was busy and that I was rude for interrupting her idle conversation. I did get the menu and asked for another for my friend that was meeting me. An eyeroll later I had my two menu's. Imedialy afrter handing my friend the menu the server came out of nowhere and told us we would get no service and to leave. When asked for the servers name her supervisors name as well, I was told that she was the OWNER! That she doesn't care/nor need my money, and that we must leave. On my way out and while proclaiming that there was no basis to be asked to leave and that I am a paying customer, she announced that she is doing fine and doesn't care nor need customersx/nor need my money. After having my life threatened by the drunk regular she was interrupted talking to so that I could get menus, I Left with no purchase and I will never say anything good that The Fire Starter Grill has to offer a new customer. It is run by a prejudiced, judgemental, I hate to call "woman", and should be avoided unless the zombie apocalypse is in full effect and the Fire Starter is the only place open, there are many fine, quality establishments within walking distance. So be sure to walk by this one. Or go innfkr a uniquely horrible...
Read moreMan, I LOVE this little bar. If you go, just keep an open mind, because it's no upscale five star restaurant. It's tucked away in a strip mall next to a Safeway and just so happened to be between my place of work and home. Upon walking in, the interior doesn't really have anything special. It might even be considered a bit dated, but their focus is on the important stuff--food and drinks! I've been here several times, and it's always been consistent.
The service level fluctuates depending on how much clientele there is, but that hasn't affected their food ticket times. They also have pool tables, darts, and a virtual golf course game. What I like about their drinks is that they don't just offer you a full bar and leave you to decide, they are always ready to recommend the latest cocktail, drink, or beer on tap.
If you're undecided on what to get, GET THE MAC N CHEESE! It's one of the best I've had--garlicky, cheesy (not just cheese-saucy) salty goodness, and you can get it with bacon, or ask them to make it spicy! Also, the appetizer "Kindling" is delicious--they are literally GIANT mozzarella sticks. If you come for breakfast, please improve the quality of your life and order the stuffed hash browns. Holy Toledo! Cheese, jalapenos, sour cream, etc... this food is all unique, hearty, well, good old fashioned...
Read moreThis place is one of my favorite places to bring my dogs to the back patio for a great happy hour experience after a trip to the park. Wednesdays have a great deal on wing baskets. It's REALLY unfortunate that boneless wings are no longer on the menu. Deb is incredibly proficient and great at her job. The other girls have been great. "New Jen" as they call her is always fun and welcoming. Alivia is fun. Original Jen and Amber are always attentive. The food seems better when James is working. The booth seats are a little beat down and one of the TV's is always purple. But it's a good local bar. There's a great cast of regular characters. Some weird lady licked my car there once. And she's just one of the large cast of characters you can see on any given day. Whether it's Trivia night or karaoke you will be entertained and leave...
