I'm starting this pizza joint out with a five although I have yet to dine there (I am a pizza connoisseur, I hereby challenge this place to maintain it's top rating!) . However, after seeing the coupon/add with the KY Hot Brown pizza pictured, and I'll admit, drooling just a little, I will be dining there this evening. Stay tuned for an unbiased account of Pizza by the Guy!
Round 2 (and 3) In order to be fair and not judge a pizza place by its cover, I decided to order the Hot Brown pizza twice. Along with regular garlic breadsticks, cheesy breadsticks, a pepperoni & mushroom pizza, and a supreme pizza. Due to Covid, I was forced both times to use their delivery service. The Hot Brown pizza was kick @$$ and awesome! The pizza was still really hot when it was dropped off; steam was still rolling when I opened the box. There was just enough sauce and just enough cheese (so I didnt lose all my remaining toppings along with my 1st bite!) so that I could still taste the other toppings. I would (and did) order this menu item again. That being said, the other items I sampled were nothing to write home about. The veggies used (mushrooms, onions, peppers, and tomatoes) were not fresh, you could tell that they came from a can due to a rubbery texture (mushrooms) and a faint metallic taste (tomatoes). The thin crust was not crisp; although that may have been due to under cooking, nor was the crust seasoned. The pizza sauce was not very flavorful either, it was quite bland and lacked chunks of the veggies used to make it. The cheese sauce for dipping the breadsticks was bland as well. The reg garlic breadsticks had WAY too much butter on them (when I squeezed one, it ran down my finger) and the cheesy bread tasted like straight up oregano. The Hot Brown was this place's saving grace on the star rating system. Had it not been for that single item, I would have given this restaurant a...
Read moreWe’ve tried a lot of their pizzas and sides and everything we’ve had has been super good. But the consistency of service is lacking. We’ve had more than 5 orders that have had items missing. The first couple of times we dismissed it as bad luck but it’s definitely a trend at this point. They always say they will ‘credit’ it but I’ve yet to see it. We’ve started ordering from here less and have chosen to go to other pizza places. I gave them a chance tonight because I was craving their garlic toast. It increased by $.50 but it’s definitely worth the price. It ended up being the only item missing from my order and the crustless pizza I did get was barely warm (but I can’t really blame them because of temps/how far from the store we are). Sad to say, but this will definitely be our last...
Read moreEh, it's good enough BUT when I asked for extra cheese it barely seemed like I got the normal amount. Aside from that I heard a female staff worker ask to use the restroom and her supervisor denied her. When someone needs to use the bathroom they shouldn't be made to wait. Especially women who get their periods and might very well be bleeding though. It's just very inconsiderate and rubbed me the wrong way. Aside from that, last time I went I called 15 min before closing to order a pick up, no answer multiple times so I had to drive all the way there just to be told they were closing early....at least if they would have answered the phone I could have gone...
