I appreciate the service and cleanliness of Wasabi 54. The double portion size was great for me as a business traveler who didnāt want to food prep in my hotel room. That said, the hibachi was not good.
The sauce was overly sweetened to the point that I could barely taste other ingredients. I was also told that the restaurant uses pre mixed vegetables for hibachi and there is an up charge to add specific vegetables. Unfortunately, this mix was about 50% potatoes. The chicken appeared to be pre cooked white meat that had sauce added at the last minute. The soup that came with my hibachi was basically dark soy sauce with hot water. (The server was really nice and she tried to help me with the potato issue but ultimately this is a problem of poor menu design)
I understand that restaurants are dealing with high ingredient costs these days. That said, i think it is possible to improve the food and that customers would accept slightly higher prices/longer cook time for a better product, instead of a hibachi vegetable plate that is 50% potatoes and 25% onions. Even the soup could be improved with something like dashi powder or pre-packaged miso paste.

I get home my soups are filled half way and there is a no rice. I was on the phone on hold for 10 minutes for a manager and no one ever answered. I get here and there is OnE car in the parking lot.. the lady to the window and the girl that helped me was super nice and understanding. However the manager came to the window and said he couldnāt give me my rice that was shorted and my money back both. . I paid for the riceā¦. I didnāt get it. I am getting my food remade but customer service was awful. Gas is $4.00 a gallon and I drove up here only to get replaced the meal and my rice added that was missing⦠I feel like you pay a certain amount for something you want it to be quality and worth it. So tonight for $15 I got shorted rice, supper at 8:10 and absolutely no compensation added other than remaking my food.. wonāt be back for a long while. Stay clear and donāt waste your hard earned money on this food and to top it of the manager who wouldnāt give me his name stated he didnāt need...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was very disappointed when we went the other day. We were seated almost right away. The booth was tore up and sticky. The table was soooo wobbly that it became annoying after 5 mins because our drinks were at risk of being spilled all the time. Our waiter took for ever with everything. By the time we got our food, it was ice cold like it had been sitting there waiting to be delivered to our table for a long time. The soup smelled like dog and so did my fork š·š¤¢ the food wasn't that great and I usually LOVE Wasabi. I got a steak hibachi dinner, asked for my steak to be well well done almost burnt haha it came medium rare. I just discarded the steak and ate the rest of my food because our food was already cold and we had already been there for ever and didn't have time to wait for another steak. The manager did take my food off our bill even though I only asked for it to be down graded to a vegetable plate. So that was great. Other than that, I don't think I'll be back to...
