We had driven by Mr burger several times and recently we were recommended to try it out. We had some business to take care of on 44th Street and we were getting hungry and passed by it on the way to our destination so we decided to stop on our way back. We went in not knowing what to expect but we are glad we did. This place has that old time feeling of what restaurants were like back in the good old days. The menu is set up just like the old Kmart cafes used to be. You grab a tray and the person behind the counter takes your order. You can see your food being cooked right there. You pull your tray to the area where you have fresh homemade fries waiting for you and within a minute your sandwich is hot, fresh and ready. You pull your tray down toward the end where they have lots of different desert choices and salads. Then to the cashier where she takes your drink order and cashes you out. The seating area is very clean and spacious and comfortable. I had a bacon burger deluxe combo with fries and a salad. The burger was one of the best burgers I have had in along time. The fries are very good and cooked just perfectly. Good size salad too! All that food at a very affordable price. I had seen another customer come in and order breakfast which looked amazing and big portions size. I highly recommend this place for great food and an amazing old school atmosphere. Ranks as one of the top burger places in my book. They have been in business for over 40 years. Many different menu choices too. If your ever craving a good burger....this is definitely the place to go. You won't be...
Read moreWas very disappointed during my first trip to Mr. Burger. On the positive side the people behind the counter were very friendly, and in addition they have a nice selection of desserts you could nab as you moved towards the check out register. Logistically though their indoor ordering setup which reminded me of lunch in a cafeteria precludes the hot food to be cold by the time you sit down to eat it since the register is at the end of the line.
For example my burger and fries were hot when they were put on my tray, I ate a few of the fries since they smelled so good, but by the time the people in front of us had selected some dessert, paid for their purchases, and received their drinks a good 10 minutes had gone by and our fries were barely warm when we sat down to eat. If you ordered and paid at the start of the line this would certainly speed up the process.
The burger was good, but about the quality and taste as your typical fast food place, but the chocolate cream pie we had for dessert...
Read moreI had an unfortunate experience today when I ordered a breakfast that included potatoes in which I called them hash browns and have the head cook basically yell at me in front of other customers telling me he does not serve hash browns and that he has worked there for over 30yrs, he even pulled one of the cooks aside and pointed to the potatoes and in a very rude manner said "This is what we serve!" It was embarrassing to say the least. It has been over a year since I have been able to dine in due to this virus and shut downs, but had frequented the drive thru. Mr Burger was always a great go to place but not anymore. I always like to support our local businesses but not this one. You have lost my support. No need to treat a loyal customer like that. Pandemic or no pandemic!
frequented the drive thru to help our local businesses... But I have 2nd thoughts. Good bye Mr Burger no longer a fan will go elsewhere and trust me word of mouth spreads fast....
