whats really sad is that the food was great, i did like that. but the pain in the ass delivery that took over an hour and a half to get to my door, the clear bull that was being spewed from whoever spoke to the grubhub people is inexcusable. let me explain, i order the food off of grubhub at 530pm, i was told that by 640 it would show up at my apartment and given that this place is only 5 miles from my apartment and live in a major city, one would assume that it wouldnt take any longer than that. well at 650 i called thai "express", the woman who answered the phone cut me off, and said that grubhub delivers the food and that it was still there, no big deal youd think ok "call grubhub and see whats up"; 715 i called grubhub customer service and explain the situation she says shell call and see whats taking so long and call me back. she calls me back, apologizes for the delay, gives me some free grub whatever worth $10, to which i say thank you.

Now it is august, it is 80 degrees out right now and the sun is shining, yet somehow the weather is part of the problem and it is thai express's delivery (not grubhub as they originally told me); and the grubhub lady tells me that it will be here at 730 at the latest. so 745 comes along and still nothing, so i call grubhub back and then at 8 they finally show up.

as i said before, the food was good, the service sucked, the fact that they outright lied, that they it took over an hour and a half to get the food 5 miles away is pathetic. if it had showed up within a timely manner, i mean even 7, not 8 my opinion would be vastly different. even if i decide to eat from here again im gonna save myself alot of headache and pick up the food in person because apparently that is less of a pain the ass than waiting around for an hour and a half and...

Thai Express is an absolute treasure in Grand Rapids. I’ve tried many Thai places around the area, but nothing comes close to the quality and experience here. The food is consistently authentic, fresh, and absolutely delicious! Every dish I've ever had is full of flavor and perfectly balanced with seasonings. My favorite is their creamy and savory Kuay Tiew Gang Kua ("N8") noodle soup, which isn't a dish that is served anywhere else in Grand Rapids!! A veggie spring roll comes served with it too, so that's a nice bonus. 🤗

This place is a family-owned restaurant, and you can feel that sense of care and pride in everything they do. I’ve had the pleasure of being served by sisters Esther and Mimi every time I visit. They’re very sweet, bubbly, and attentive. They make you feel genuinely welcomed, like you’re part of their family! That kind of hospitality paired with such amazing food is what makes this place stand out far above the rest. The atmosphere here is also cozy, inviting, and quiet. There's no need to yell across the table and the music they play is pleasant.

Overall, if you’re searching for authentic Thai cuisine in Grand Rapids, then this is the place to go! I can confidently say that I’ll be a loyal customer for years to come. ❤️

(And NO, this isn't a paid review either. I just really really love...

Awesome food. Never was a Thai fan, but now I am. Been there twice now. A little pricier than I think is warranted now, though.

Pho Pia Tod: Simple light and fluffy appetizer to get you through the wait to the main dishes.

Gyo Tod (Crab Cheese): Sweet and crispy with a creamy center.

Goong Tod (Breaded Shrimp): A hearty texture, but very savory bite of delight.

Kai Satay (Chicken Skewers): A personal favorite of what I sampled. Just simple chicken cooked with a light spice that was well complimented with the peanut butter sause.

Kai Tod (Chicken Wings): Right off the bone with some uniquely almost Cajun flavor.

Tom Yum Num Kon: Good with a spice level of 5 (had it a second time, it was that good). The bamboo and wood (DON'T EAT IT) adds an outdoor flavor.

Kao Pad (Thai Fried Rice): If I frequented this restaurant, I'd probably get this! A wonderful balanced blend of spice (6 out of 10) with a selection of tender chicken morsels and it satisfies the appetite leaving you full!

It was Tuesday when I visited and there was not a lot of staff which complicated wait times. We were early and fine, but I saw a couple people waiting later. Food and service was...

I haven't been here since college, and it was in a different building at the time. The servers are super nice and they still recognized me from my college days. I'm not sure if my tastes have changed over the years, but the food here seemed to have more fish sauce flavors than I remember. That being said, it still tasted delicious and authentic. I didn't eat any of the crab cheese but my guest said it was tasty. The unripened mango salad was very fresh with the mangos having a nice crunch to them, similar to papaya salad. My pad Thai, as previously mentioned had a stronger fish sauce taste than most Thai places, but it was still good. Tina's peanut curry was very unexpected. It was very soupy and had a lot more coconut milk than we were used to. The best thing they do here is offer unlimited refills on the Thai iced tea. You also get a spring roll with your meals and either cheese cake or ice cream for dessert, free of charge.

Best Thai food in all of GR. Have been there at least a dozen times and they never have an off night. The service is beyond exceptional. I love that they give you 2 menus, one with a writen description, and the 2nd with a picture of each menu item. You get a generous portion at a very reasonable price. For those of you scared to try Thai food because you're afraid of spicy food they let you order on a spiciness scale of 1 to 10. Beware if you choose to go higher than a 7, i love spicy food, and 7 Is my threshold before pleasure turns to pain. If you're a beginner, i highly recommend the Pad Thai, as it contains nothing that could be considered spooky or unfamiliar to the typical American palette. They're kind of tucked back into the back plaza of the Town & Country Plaza, so look for the red awning.

I came to Thai Express for the very first time yesterday. The first thing I noticed was how friendly the staff was and how inviting the restaurant is. The second thing I noticed was the number of pick up orders they had sold. I was very surprised at how much business this place gets simply due to its size and location. Our server was prompt and polite. Our order was correct and fresh. I ordered the Thai fried rice with chicken and would highly recommend this dish. Overall my experience was very nice. I will be returning and recommending this establishment to all my friends and family. Keep up the good work.
