After furnishing my entire home through this location over the past 6 years, I had the most unprofessional experience with the manager, Eric, this afternoon. As a loyal customer, I have spent thousands of dollars over the years.

Today, I went in to buy a specific sofa and the price they were offering in store was $100 more than the price online. Apparently, the website was pinging off a location in Ohio and pricing is different based on location. Fair enough. In trying to reach my price point on the furniture, Eric was completely unwilling to work with me to find a solution. He said that if he gave me $100 off, every time I come back I would be looking for better and better price contingencies. I asked him three times if he was willing to lose the entire relationship over $100, where I still have 2000sqft that I am remodeling, and every time he said yes.

Look, I’m a reasonable person. If Eric had just said it’s their policy not to offer an additional discount I would not be here writing this right now and I might have gone ahead and purchased the sofa. Instead, he accused me of not shopping in good faith. I ordered a chair during COVID that took 6-9 months to be delivered. The sales rep at that time offered to give me a discount due to the delay, and I rejected it because I knew it was not the fault of this store. This is a local store with a local owner, and it is not their fault the manufacturer was having issues during COVID. I expected that we would have a long standing relationship and that the good faith I showed them would be returned as I continue to furnish my home. I was wrong, and this location does not value loyal customers. When I spend thousands of dollars, I expect more than an arms length transactional relationship. When I shared this with Eric, he couldn’t have cared less.

Marcus’s excellent service and genuine care for his customers turned what could have been a routine shopping trip into a delightful experience.
