The Salted Cupcake — Restaurant in Kentwood

I have followed this bakery for a few years and finally made a plan to visit! I absolutely recommend texting and reserving your order because she does sell out fast! The interior is small but they use the space well, you do not feel cramped, and the wall papers are perfection. You'd probably think it was your wife's She Shed if you didn't know any better!

They have many flavors of cupcakes- they update their Facebook page and website with the weekly flavors which includes ingredients and PICTURES! This week it was Girl Scout themed. The gal who helped us was so sweet and helpful. It is a little hard to find pricing information. When you find a cupcake shop you automatically think sweet - We were completely impressed with the balance in each flavor. Out of the 4 flavors we had, only 1 was a little sweeter.

They are presented beautifully and the cakes are perfectly fluffy - not too dry, not too moist. They also offer Pupcakes for fur babies which our girls and even the cat loved! If you haven't stopped in yet, you are missing out!

We drove about an hour to get here and almost drove right past it. The was our destination. On our way we pictured ourselves choosing the perfect cupcake, a hot cup of coffee and sitting at a quaint table enjoying the moment. To our surprise, this place was so small, no tables to sit at, I didn't see coffee and the parking lot was full. We parked on the grass next to the sign (sorry bout that). However, after we parked, took a couple pictures, and by the time we got outta the truck to go in, two parking places opened. Once inside there was a line. But that's because it is standing room only. The line went real quick. Customers ordered one or two cupcakes and headed out the door. It took us a moment to decide because they display sample cupcakes and really, we wanted to try them all. We ordered 1/2 dozen of different flavors. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. Once home, we taste tested each other's cupcakes throughout the evening. Everyone of them were as tasty as they were beautiful to look at. All the cupcakes I’ve had(many) were great. I like the chocolate/coconut types best. The place is small , not much room inside to stand if there’s more than 10 people. No place to sit down & eat. That’s ok it’s just a pick up & go. Maybe some day they will get a bigger place. But I will continue to go & wait in line (outside) if I have to. It’s to be expected for such great cupcakes. Not just the taste but decorated wonderfully & unique. They open at 10 so that time is busy. The driveway (locale looks like a small house/garage) is u-shaped so you can drive in 1 side & go out the other. If it’s busy it’s quite congested. The staff is always friendly but small. Don’t get too upset if you don’t seem to get your proper turn. They try their best but sometimes it’s overwhelming. The great thing is that you can order ahead & they’ll reserve your order in a cute box that holds them in place & indicates what flavor is in there. Just go to their website,look up what kind u want.
