Five Guys — Restaurant in Kernersville

My husband and I ate at this location for lunch one day. Upon entering we were greeted with smiles and a cheerful hello. We don't eat very much these days so we split a burger. We had the cheeseburger with bacon lettuce cheese tomatoes and onions and it was delicious. The burger comes with fries so we ordered a small fry. When I tell you the small fry is huge! We enjoyed every single bite. We did get two shakes, they complimented the burger and fries very well. While eating we noticed a middle-aged lady cleaning the dining room. She went about her way cleaning tables chairs the floor and even the window seal. She was doing her work as though she was really happy to do it. When it was time to leave I went to the register to get change for a bill. I did not want to leave without giving her a tip. It's those that do some of the hardest work that are rewarded least. I have heard much 'ado' about their fries. Other than them being sliced with peeling left on, they were over cooked, and a lot of small pieces....like I got the bottom of the barrel. The burger was good(not great) but for the price of almost $18 per person with tax for small burger, small fry and small drink, I think the Hops home location in Greensboro, or the Burger spot in Kernersville and surrounding locations, still have the best burger for the price you pay. If you get their regular burger and fries and small drink, expect to pay about $21 with tax per person. Summary... I gave 2 stars....1 star for speed of service, 1 star for clean atmosphere. Negatives....high price for a Medium quality(dry, tasteless) burger, overcooked fries, and they got my order wrong on top of it...went home with an extra cheeseburger, that I did pay for, but, did not order....guess they hit the button 3 times instead of 2.
