Big Burger Spot — Restaurant in Kernersville

This one is difficult. I want to go with one star but the employees were super friendly as soon as you walk in. I had high hopes for this place bc of the reviews. Maybe you need to order and eat there instead of takeout or maybe we just ordered the wrong things. The Cajun fries were actually pretty decent. Not the best but at least edible. I wish I could say the same for the burgers. The pimento cheese burger was supposed to be Medium but was rare. The meat had a strange gummy texture and you had to chew forever. The mushroom Swiss burger was just like eating a sponge soaked in grease. It was supposed to be med rare and was actually med. Maybe they mixed the patties up. But that one also had a strange gummy texture. The bun was a gloopy gross wrinkled mess. We both got super sick less than thirty minutes after the few bites we had before we just couldn't force ourselves to eat more. I wouldn't have thought that was a brioche bun unless I specifically ordered it. Very odd bun. Wrinkled and soggy and gross. Sweet potato waffle fries were dry and flavorless. Which is odd bc they also had good reviews. I'm beginning to think I shouldn't trust any restaurant reviews from Kernersville. 3/5 stars only bc the employees were very friendly and the fries were edible. Tried big burger spot for the first time at this location it was fantastic so fantastic that me and my boyfriend wanted to have it again. We tried a different location and were beyond unsatisfied. Having had such great food at this location the first time we decided to try again thinking it would be 100 times better.WE WERE WRONG!! We ordered 2 burgers (Almost) and a cheese fry the cheese fries were disgusting in my personal opinion so I didn’t eat anymore after the 1 half a bite I took of the one fry I tried to eat. WORST OF ALL. My boyfriend’s burger was still pink inside even though he specified he wanted it WELL DONE. We called the store and informed them of this and had them made another. We got the cheddar cheddar bacon bacon, be cause he got a new burger we were GOING TO split the cheddar and bacon from the first burger. When trying to separate it we found some type of paper IN BETWEEN the cheese and cheddar.So not only was the burger NOT FULLY COOKED, but if he would have bitten into it he would have bitten the paper. My boyfriend went to the store to inform the staff and they said there’s “NOTHING” they can do. We will NOT be going back and I honestly wouldn’t even recommend this location to anyone. So disappointed. I had high hopes for this place because of all the good reviews but to be honest I’m sitting here dumbfounded because I don’t understand how anybody can think these burgers are good. I can honestly say it’s one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. I agree with one of the other reviewer’s where the meat was very chewy and gummy. Our burgers were all well done even though we ask for medium and medium well. We ordered sweet potato fries we got seven little pieces and paid $3 dollars for that. We will never go here again now will we recommend it. I can’t even tell you how bad these burgers tasted mine tasted like they poured vinegar all over it & my bun was soaking wet. I’ve tried many burger places and they can’t even come close to Bad Daddys or Porterhouse because at least they make their burgers from hand and not frozen patties. We decided to try this place because we just moved and it was close to home but from now on will travel further to get a good burger. The only reason I gave it a two star is because ordering was easy and the people were friendly but as for the actual food….disgusting!!
