It is important to note that I am a vegetarian, and have been for 10 years. I do not eat ANY type of meat products( i.e. fish, shrimp, beef, pork, chicken, etc.) I've visited this establishment many times and they are usually pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty good. I took my mother out to eat at Kimono, she loves Japanese. Saw a couple ants, nothing major...ants happen. When we ordered I just ordered hibachi mixed vegetables and white rice..they brought our food out rather quickly, maybe 10 minutes later...and my plate is heaped with chicken, veggies, and rice. Just lots of chicken, mixed in with everything. I politely pointed out that I had wanted no meat or chicken, just the vegetables and rice...she apologized and took the plate back to the kitchen. Not even 2 minutes later, she's bringing my plate back (which made me suspicious that it wasn't completely remade, which would have been appropriate), when she sat my plate down she asked, "You don't like chicken? Everyone like chicken..." I told her, that no, I don't like chicken because I'm a vegetarian. At this point she looks wide eyed and guilty...like a child is when the know they did something wrong but hope you don't notice. I didn't see any obvious pieces of chicken, so I began eating...halfway through I find several small chunks of chicken. I just completely stopped eating, I wasn't going to send it back again (they would have messed with my food)....so I just stopped, paid the bill with no tip, and will never return. Respect my food choices!! I understand mistakes happen the first time, but then to just take it to the kitchen to dig through EVERYTHING (rice and veggies too (it was mixed in)) on my plate to remove chicken pieces, rather than making a new plate of what I ordered. A plate that's not full of cross contamination from meat. So disrespectful...this is something I eat. I decide what I want to put in it. Disrespectful.
Sadly, I did not listen to my own words. After 9 months of staying away, my mother begged me to try it again with her. The same thing happened. I didn't even try to say anything. I just pushed my plate away, watched her eat, paid and left. I also let my mother know that there would be no more "persuading" me to go. Also, a group of employees sat at a table very close to ours, having a pretty loud, profanity laden conversation. I won't pretend that I don't use profanity, but I've always made sure never to do so at work. When I worked in food service, I made sure that customers never heard me or any of my employees using profanity. This place has really...
Read moreIf you get wrong food, you will only hear a lady almost yelling at you. She insists she checked the order with me at checkout. She read what I ordered, but ended up giving wrong foods. You will never hear her saying sorry. Told her it'd be better to open the box and show what is in there, but all she does is ignoring me and saying it's not her fault.
Miss, you can speak English just fine. It's not about your English skill at all. You being an Asian don't automatically make you bad with English. You're not even the person who recieved my order when I called. My order has been confirmed 3 times on the phone, and there is no reason for them to make and prepare different kinds. Steak and chicken don't even sound similar.
If kitchen staff made the wrong food, just let me know and charge me the correct amount. I can wait for my food or just accept what you guys made. I feel like I'm getting foods made for someone else and not picked up.
This was not the first time I got wrong foods and got yelled at. If this was the best customer service you could provide whenever the restaurant makes a mistake, your restaurant will not last longer than you think. See you just lost a customer, and I am not the only one who is not satisfied with you. There are so many reviews about bad customer service. I don't know whether you are the owner of this business or not, but you need to do something with your attitude because the foods have always...
Read moreJust got food takeout there. I meant to go to a Japanese place closer to Harris Teeter in Kernersville but made a woopsie and ended up here. Didnt realize until I had already ordered food. So, I was willing to give them a chance despite many negative reviews.
Food wasnt super warm when it was handed to me and it should be hot if it was just cooked to order. All our food was meh...really bland to no flavor. Barely any teriyaki flavor on anything and it was thin, like dark water, instead of like a sauce. Lots of rice out balanced the meat and veggies. My steak and scallops had little to no spices or flavoring. Carrots were simple but kids liked them.
The eggs rolls were over cooked and dark. The sweet and sour sauce was the best thing with my meal.
That mustard sauce is awful and shouldn't be even given to customers....my kids wouldn't even touch it and it made me gag. Worse was that I asked for suggestions on best sauce and that is what the front lady suggested....blech! Wish I had gotten ginger sauce, but with the quality of other food....not sure even about it.
I had to put my own soy sauce on it at home to make even relatively taste like Asian food.
Glad I didnt try tempura, as it is one of my fave japanese foods and I would be sad to get bad tempura.
We will NOT be returning here and try other Japanese restaurants...
