WOW!!! Wow Wee!!! We were traveling and pulled off 421 to eat at Panera Bread, or at least that was the spur of the moment idea. However, beside Panera was C & H Cafeteria. My 87 year old parents didnt quite understand the menu board at Panera, so my wife suggested we try the Cafeteria next door. This was her best suggestion of the day, and she is always full of great suggestions! Bare in mind this was 2pm on Mothers Day, so they were somewhat busy even at the 2 o'clock hour. We were watching folks come down the line with their food selections, and our eyes got really big. Our smiles grew large too! We all said almost in unison "everything looks so good!" Im not exagerating. EVERYTHING looked tasty and fresh and properly prepared. I had my all time cafeteria favorite meal of country style steak, mashed potatos, gravy, lima beans, broccoli, soft roll, and chocolate cream pie. It was easily the best cafeteria experience ever! My wife and parents were impressed and enjoyed their selections as well. Everything looked good, including fried and baked chicken, several fish selections, baked spaghetti, turkey and dressing, many other meat selections, salads and vegetables, desserts, breads....everything! The operation was well oiled too. This wasnt their first rodeo. The staff was on top of it, obviously well managed. Great customer service, everyone was friendly. Everything was neat and clean too. Im going to stop at that. I wish there was a restaurant like C & H Cafeteria near me. This is a great place to eat if you want a good meal. I'll return on my next travel thru...
Read moreAt one point I would have given this place a five star review but my rating is not based on the food, the food here is very good and consistently good my 2 star rating is based on staff, I’ve been a very frequent customer here for many many years and officially do not like the crew of staff that they have working here it is a bunch of younger and honestly lazy employees they are very loud they are rambunctious and they carry on in front of customers Not even close to a real quality of any kind of customer service. very frequently I will go here to eat and see employees just standing around twiddling their thumbs, while watching the others who have been there a while work to complete their job duties the food is always good but the staff is not what it used to be , And apparently as of recently they have in force their employees to start wearing gloves while on the serving line which is a no brainer there should always be gloves while serving food at one point I went to the serving line and it was an employee on the breadline serving bread and was continuously wiping his nose on his arm while serving the bread, But needless to say I have not seen him there since then and of course this is only happened one time as long as I have been coming here but probably as of now taking a break from...
Read moreI just discovered this cafeteria which is full of us elderly people. There are some young people of course but there's a lot of older retired people and you know when that happens it means that the place is good. My friend that went with me does not eat fish ever and I had a broiled fish I think it was whiting and I let him taste it and he loved it and wants to go back for more and the lady at the cashier she's a nice lady that has a smile on her face and the lady that served us was very nice there was one lady that was not in a good mood in the serving line but that's okay maybe she was having a bad day but the food is very good. And I loved it and it's about 17 minutes on the expressway from my house but I'm going back from more... Oh my other friend had the grilled chicken with onions and he said the seasoning was good but it was a little bit overcooked but I rather have chicken that's overcooked than undercooked! LOL and then my other friend had chicken alfredo with spaghetti and I tried it and it was very very good. I can't say enough...
