This is just like going into Chicago for Italian Beef, you know, if you’re looking for Italian Beef. There was a lot of choices on the menu, but if you want my recommendation I would say stick with what this place does best: the Italian Beef sandwich, dipped, with peppers (cheese optional) or the beef bowl with sausage (see photos). Oh goodness that juicy, beefy flavor of the sandwich bread soaked in the beef juicy. The velvety, thin-sliced beef texture that just melts apart in your mouth. And then the peppers. You did ask for peppers right? Oh yeah, they just explode with flavor just as you’re feeling euphoric on that beef soaked bread the powerful pepper blast hits your tongue and you immediately know you made the right call getting the standard beef sandwich. I was full after two-thirds of it but ate the whole thing anyway because it was just that good. You especially want to eat all the soaked bread, as it’s definitely designed as an eat-it-now kind of experience (read: soggy tomorrow). I didn’t even bother with fries or a drink or anything like that. I came here for the beef and ordered the large!! Just stopped in tonight for the first time and had hands down the WORST Chicago dog I’ve ever had - by a long shot.

I’ve had bad food before, but this prompted me to take the time to write my first ever Google review.

The bun was seriously hard as a rock - either extremely stale, or extremely freezer burned. Completely inedible.

The hotdog itself and the condiments were all just sitting loosely in the wrapper next to the bun, because the bun itself was too hard to open and put anything in it.

I don’t know who assembled and packed this Chicago dog and thought this was okay. It is seriously shocking that this food was allowed to leave the kitchen.

The hamburger we got was undercooked, with barely any condiments. Not a single drop of ketchup, and barely any mayo.

It does not matter if this was a fluke experience - the fact that this order was allowed to leave the kitchen even just once is telling enough.

I would give zero stars if I could. We will...

I went with a large group of people and for some inexplicable reason it took me almost 15 minutes to get my beef and fries. When I confronted the manager about it he gave me a bit of an attitude. I wasn't asking for anything special. I just thought it shouldn't take 15 minutes to get a beef and fries at a beef place.

After the manager's poor attitude I started taking a good look around because I was planning on never coming back. However, he came back later and apologized, which I'm not one of those guys who needs that but I felt like he did make an effort to make it right.

The beef was fine. The fries were fine. Nothing special. It is close to work so I might go back. I know a lot of people love it. I just find this is just kind of a chain and I think there are other chains that do it better.
