Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Lake Zurich

I usually love going here! The staff is great and friendly and fast. This morning I ordered a smoothie on my way to work (something I do once a week) usually never have any troubles. And I love their smoothies!! Today I had an issue, I ordered my smoothie on the app (love free points and rewards) and I get there at 8:42am and there is not a soul to be found. There time is listed as opening at 7am, again I do this all the time with no issue. I wait at the speaker for 5 minutes, I pull around and wait by the window until I finally park and go to the door. The place is closed. I try calling and there isn’t even a voicemail. S

Edit: I got in contact with the manager later in the day and has made a reasonable adjustment to what happened this morning. He handled it honestly and transparently, he rectified the situation and I’m adjusting the review just for that.

Edit 2: the manager never got back back to me regarding my refund, I’ve called 4-5 times and it’s been over a month since this happened. Nobody gets back to me, I leave my contact information every time I call. I’m disappointed that no one has...

Tropical Smoothie always hits the spot. The service was great, the smoothie bowl was perfect, and the place is always clean. I love that there are healthy options instead of having to get fast food that is not good for me. Since everything is made to order those complaining about wait time please keep that in mind and when they are slammed they can only make the food so fast. It takes time to prep the smoothies and food. Not sure if you ever watched a person make a smoothie bowl, but it is not something that takes only 1 minute to put together and same goes for the smoothies and other food.

The two employees here were impeccable. Excellent. Friendly, fast, above and beyond. ESPECIALLY given that there were ONLY two, which none of us should accept as reasonable staffing in food service, general public or business owner. Anyone who finds that acceptable should be ashamed of themselves. Especially those swimming in the profits rather than paying their employees for this work.

The menu items are middling. The prices are inflated.

I won't be coming back and, until the company acts ethically, no one else...
