ALDI — Local services in Lake Zurich

This store is so rude. I stood up front for a few minutes waiting for someone to check me out; I saw a woman and said I’m ready to check out when you have a chance. And she rudely said “Oh I’m ready”

Then, I have 5 items in a box. I set the box to the counter to be ready to pack, she puts the things in the cart. I take the cart for my 5 small items and says rudely “I need the cart back.” Like can I have five seconds with my five items to put them back in my box and I will give you the cart back. There was one person behind me with one loaf of bread.

In another instance with a pick up order, I opened my trunk and the lady yells at Front to me. Wow it looks like you live out of your car. I’m a mom with two little kids. I don’t need feedback on the state of my car. I need my groceries.

I started going to Aldi probably about 8 months ago when my wife sent me on a wild goose chase... it was my first visit and I became super frustrated at the structure of the store and where things were located. Over the course of many more shopping trips, I started understanding and “feeling” what was going on. Certain days brought different products and specials. Eventually I determined that the way they keep their prices so low is their efficiency in what they sell. If it’s gone... it’s gone! But that allows them to not absorb the cost of unsold inventory. The staff at this particular store are friendly, helpful, and attentive (especially when checking out). I will continue my Aldi adventures as long as my wife...

This Aldi in Lake Zurich is a mixed bag at best. Today's visit was a bust as by 4pm, the first day of the weekly flyer, the featured beef brisket was sold out. Didn't plan properly? Also, it appears Organic milk 1/2 gallons have increased in price by 10%. This milk was the key reason for shopping here. Further, in the last visit, the registers were insufficiently staffed, and the clerk kept the auto feed of the conveyor going which forced shoppers' orders to collide (clerk said she couldn't turn it off!). And lastly, making a left turn out of this location on to Rt12 is near impossible at rush hour or on the weekends. There are much better alternatives to this...
