The Grand Empress Tea Room — Restaurant in Kilgore

I came in last Thursday for brunch with my mom. Prior to coming in, it was required to make a reservation for the high tea service, which made the experience feel extra special and exclusive. When we got there, the table was set beautifully with antique china and finger foods. We ordered the Grand Dame, which included freshly made soup and quiche, both of which were delicious! All of the finger foods and pastries were also very good, but my favorite part was the assortment of teas to choose from. The owner served us herself and she was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home in the beautiful tea room. I can not say enough positive things about this place! The owner will dazzle you with her hospitality and amazing food. My Mother, Sister, Daughter and I made an hour trip to check this place out and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We loved the variety of teas and the delicious food. I enjoyed the Jordan lunch which includes I believe, salad, soup, half a sandwich, tea, water, and dessert. The picture of the platter is what was presented to us for dessert. Everything was a delight to eat. We will definitely return! While I would love to be selfish and have this wonderful place all to myself, a place this good has to be shared! This is my favorite mother-daughter spot. The food is delicious every time. Today we had a cauliflower soup, chicken salad on croissant, cucumber sandwiches, a summer fruit salad, a fresh baked blueberry scone, a garden salad, and hot tea.
