JB Fireside — Restaurant in Killeen

The FOOD IS AMAZING!!!!! I've lived in Killeen for quite some time now and I enjoy trying new restaurants and food trucks. When I found JB Fireside on Google the pictures ALONE made me want to try it. It's located on the corner of Old 440 and Circle M. When I say authentic cuisine I mean authentic. The oxtails were so tender and the meat just melted off the bone. The rice and peas have a distinct flavor of savory spices and herbs that made my mouth water. The cabbage are seasoned to perfection and the plantains were sweet. I had to make my husband pull over so I could eat a few spoons because the anticipation from the aromas filling our car was overwhelming and I knew I wasn't going to make it home ☺️. The people were so friendly, and granted, there was a wait time but it was well worth it. Outside seating is available, but I like to enjoy my food in the a/c. There's also music playing for entertainment. They have authentic Jamaican drinks!! Mmm mmmm mmmm!!!! . Listen don't beat yourself...Treat yourself!!!! You'll thank me...

I’d give more stars if I could. Stopped by while on business in Killeen. Weather was a breezy spring; and the atmosphere was tranquil. Had the jerk pork and it was amazing. JB was kind enough to share their story and talk to customers. Also shared the curried pork and the ox tail. All super tasty and left wanting more.

The portions were excellent. The rice and (peas) beans was the best. Add on the ox sauce— usually rice is the filled, this could have been a meal. Jerk pork was delicious dryer than other cooking methods, but delicious. Even the cabbage was excellent!! But the plantain— oh the plantain. Best I’ve ever had!! I left stuffed full and looking forward to returning.

The man the myth the legend Mr. JB and his wife are amazing people that love what they do and it DEFINITELY shows in their cooking!...you can taste the passion and love for cooking in their food! i ordered oxtail with rice and peas and a side of jerk pork just to try and the food was nothing short of AMAZING! I love the fact that the food is perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection the oxtails were fall off the bone tender with tons of flavor and for the jerk pork you already know also had tons of flavor with a kick of spice and tender! Mr JB thank you for an amazing experience ive been looking for a go to Jamaican spot since ive moved here from the east coast and ive definitely found it with...
