Kitty's Kakery — Restaurant in Killeen

I called this bakery to place an order of a 6” cake for my son’s birthday. I was very happy that she was able to take my order. I explained to her what I wanted which was a lemon blueberry cheesecake cake. she explained to me that she can’t bake cheesecake into the cake so maybe cheesecake filling. I’m not a baker so I don’t know much about baking so I asked her whatelse can she do. she told me that she can’t bake cheesecake into the cake and suggested cream cheese filling, now I’m thinking oh it’s probably the same so I went ahead and said yes. The day I went to pick up the cake she showed it to me and I thought it was so beautiful. The simplicity of it was just perfect. She gave me few instructions on how to handle/ serve the cake. Got home guest came over , sang happy birthday now it’s time to cut the cake. Look at the picture and see for yourself. The amount of money( $75)I paid for this cake didn’t not live up to my expectations. I ordered a blueberry lemon cheesecake cake but rather I got buttercream cake with little bit of cream cheese filling. The amount(thickness)of the buttercream was overwhelming to say the least. My husband, my self and some of our guest were left wondering whether or not she forgot to include the cream cheese. You can see that we pretty much tore this cake apart looking for the damn cream cheese filling. Guess what, only little bit of it was found hiding between layers of buttercream. Until the very last layer where she decided to put a little bit more cream cheese laying on top of ….. you guessed it more buttercream. The cake itself was not dry but rather I wanna say crumbly. The buttercream was tasteless. When i smushed the cake between my fingers it was oily. I don’t know why your cutting corners when it came to my order, Which resulted in lacking of the main ingredients that I specifically asked and paid for. What even more disappointing is that I saw your sign outside of your establishment and it says cheesecake. Which tells me you specialize in making cheesecake as well.by the way, Half of it went to trash. Honesty is very important in my opinion Weather your a customer or the person providing the service. I bought a cake for my friends birthday who is obsessed with frogs and I saw a picture of a cake that is really in style right now and I was at first nervous if there were bakers in the area that could do this certain cake style. I had just invested in a wedding cake from a very well known bakery in the area in late may and I loved it, so I inquired first with that baker and they had quoted me higher and for less than what kitty’s kakery did. So I took a chance because I saw pictures of their cakes they have done in the past and saw a beautiful heart shaped cake she did for a birthday and it was the exact style I wanted and I have not seen any other bakeries pictures on their websites showing they can pull it off so I took a chance and ordered a cake with kitty’s kakery. It was the best decision I have made and I wish now that I would have had them make my wedding cake! I gave them a picture of how I wanted the cake to look and when I came by to pick it up, IT WAS EXACTLY HOW THE PICTURE WAS THAT I SHOWED THEM! Everyone at the party, the birthday girl and I were all so impressed and shocked with how much it was exactly spot on and adorable! Like nothing we have ever seen done before for a birthday cake. I was really worried too that the cake was going to be so small and would not be enough because that style they usually are very small so they were saying but I was so pleasantly surprise when I first saw it that it was so tall and we had enough for everyone and then some! The cost was so worth it, much more budget friendly than other bakeries and the quality was outstanding. All of it was down with buttercream icing and the icing got so many compliments on how it “was not cheap buttercream or fondant” on the cake. I will get all of my cakes from here on out! Well well well… my favorite place to grab a sweet treat (Kitty’s Kakery) NOW SELLS ICE CREAM… SAY WHAT!!!! When I found out, I was doing backflips from the Harker Heights Walmart all the way to Kitty’s Kakery in Killeen. (If you saw someone in a black hoodie doing backflips all down I-14, mind your business that was a moment of pure joy.) I walked in like I owned the place, eyes wide, mouth open, already mentally preparing my stomach for whatever chaos was about to ensue. But hold up…wait a minute…THEY HAVE VEGAN FRIENDLY ICE CREAM OPTIONS TOO!! When I tell you I almost fainted. The staff had to hand me a sample spoon just to bring me back to life. They have 8 different delicious fan favorites of ice cream, multiple toppings…AND YOU CAN EVEN PAIR THEM WITH THE OTHER SWEATS THEY SELL TOO! And let me tell you about that MANGO TANGO SORBET Baby. BABY. That thing had me dancing like I was in a salsa club in Miami with Pitbull himself. It’s sweet, it’s tangy, it’s got that tropical vacation energy without the passport. I legit considered proposing to it. Like, will you marry me and ruin all other desserts forever? Kitty’s Kakery, y’all didn’t have to go this hard. But you did.
