I'm a passing truck driver that decided to splurge a bit. I understand its Friday evening and they are a bit busy but what comes next is absolutely unacceptable. Put an order over the phone. I specifically asked for Horchata. Person that took my order specifically checked if they have it. Get there and pay for my food at 5:36pm. My food on the counter and Horchata nowhere to be found. Lady at the register proceeds to tell me that it will be few minutes before she can get someone to get my Hochata as she continues on checking guests out. These people had a pleasure of eating a WARM meal while I am standing there with my food getting cold. Finally a waitress comes up and hold the counter up while Im still standing there. Finally the register decides to tell her to get my drink. She comes back telling me there is no Horchata and if I want something else. I proceed to tell her I will take Jamaica instead. She catches an attitude and storms back to the back. Finally the manager shows up and long be hold, Horchata magically appears! Finally got to leave at 5:56pm. I stood there for 20 minutes just for a drink?! I had to microwave my food When I got back to the truck my food was stone cold and my cheese dip comletely separated from getting cold. It would have been a 1 star if the manager would not rectify the...

We were a party of three kids and three adults, the youngest two are 3yo and half feral (I swear!) We don't usually dine out with our wee gremlins, but we had taken a day trip a few towns over, and we wanted to give the kids a bit longer out of the vehicle before heading home. We were greeted and given the option of booth or table, we took the booth with the server warmly greeting us before we could all sit down. She was delightful, sweet, and very attentive. She had paid enough attention to catch my husband, on his way back from the restroom, and ask what he'd like to drink. She had a ton of patience to handle my brain flat-lining (over my kids, of course), and kindly asked a few follow-up questions to be certain she had the order correct. We never felt rushed, ignored, or like our kids were a nuisance, well other than them simply annoying me lol. The food was great, zero complaints, 10/10. The food for the toddlers was cooled before being set on the table, and they brought it out quickly so my kids didn't have to wait to eat. The rest of the food was served hot and fresh, and we all enjoyed our various dishes. My husband and I will likely return when we find ourselves...

I'm usually not one to complain but my experience at El Toril today was awful. The host didn't ask if our toddler needed a booster chair so I had to get it myself. No big deal. The menus stank like dirty mildew dish rag water. Noticeably bad to the point I had to hold it away from my face to read it. Our server took our drink orders then food order and never checked on us again or brought any refills. 3 of 4 meals came out about 20 minutes after we ordered but mine did not. After another 20 minutes of waiting i had to flag my server down and ask him to check on my food. The kids quesadilla tasted gross. You could tell it was cooked on a dirty grill. The chimichanga was very small. The nachos were good though. At this point we were ready to leave. When my food came I asked for to go boxes. I packed the 3 meals that came first. I took a bite of my enchiladas rancheros before putting it in a box and it was dry and chewy. I went to scrape it into the box and the tortillas were burnt and stuck to the plate. I just set it down and left it. I know Sundays are rough sometimes but it wasn't very busy and there was no wait to be seated.

We will...

Follow-up next day edit: our kid was up throwing up last night, so add food poisoning as another reason to not visit this place. Fajitas with frozen tasteless peppers, clumpy dry rice and sad looking lettuce. Fajitas came out surprisingly fast, in about 3 minutes tops, and i quickly found out why: everything is pre-cooked and just thrown together for a few seconds. Peppers translucent and dripping water, boiled-tasting steak, nothing sizzling about it. Salsa is soupy and tastes watered down as well. My first snd last taste visit here for sure. Karaoke is awesome, that’s about it!

No plan to come to this restaurant prior to checking into the hotel across the street. Very pleased! I judge mexican restaurants by their refried beans which were good here. I got the chile poblano. I was assuming they would be ok but not great as all have been at other places. These were amazing!! Never had better that weren't homemade. Red sauce was divine! Also so full of cheese... every bite. Stuffed myself because I could not stop eating. Husband got the steak fajitas which also seemed to be good but I was too distracted by my meal.

Stayed at a hotel near this restaurant when I was passing through. The service was quick and to the point. The food was fantastic with great flavor. I had the burrito California and a beef quesadilla. Both of which were fantastic. If you have a large appetite the burrito alone should satisfy it. Contrary to popular belief with mexican food my stomach was only happy with this food and didn't give me even one sign of being upset with me for eating it.
