Kimball China Buffet — Restaurant in Kimball

Husband and I went there to eat. We usually eat there once a week and have for about a year now. We had the lunch buffet. It was around 3:10….still before the cutoff time of 3:20. No problem…right? Wrong. We had finished a plate of food and I had noticed they’d put crab cakes out. This was about 4:15. So, I go get one and come back to the table to sit down and eat it. Not even 2 minutes have passed and the waiter comes with the bill and says they charged us for the Lunch buffet…but if we wanted to eat more they’d have to charge us the Dinner price. I’m thinking seriously? All because I went back and got one crab cake? So basically you’re telling me that even though we came in at the end of the lunch buffet time we’re not allowed to get something they’ve put out later on just because it wasn’t on the buffet at the time we got there? Really? Their attitude was incredibly rude about the whole thing. The food is good…but the attitude terrible. If it happens again…we won’t be back. They have a lot to learn about good...

Vegetable fried rice was dry cold yellow rice, a couple specs of green peas nothing else, nothing like fried rice i’ve ever had. Left it untouched but for one bite and they tried to charge me 50% for it.

Soup was just clear boiled water with veggies and old mushrooms thrown in. Zero flavor. I ate it for the fiber value. Did not eat the crunchies that came with the soup, they smelled and tasted rancid.

Bathroom had one toilet splattered in poop, the other toilet a had toilet paper cardboard in it. I told them about it when we got there, manager sounded like she’s directing someone to clean it and nothing was done before we left. I did not mention it...

The food was great and would've gotten a 5 star without a doubt had the ladies up front not been so rude. I'm not talking just your average "it's been a long day let's get outta here" rude. The kind where they're spitting some undistinguishable junk out, were bothered when I asked to add a drink to my carry out order and continued speaking their native tongue to the point they wouldn't take a long enough break to even hear me thank them for the food much less reply. Shame bc there's truck parking and it's relatively close to my work but this was the one and only visit to this place. There's plenty chinese places willing to take my money and not be rude in...
