We came in expecting to enjoy our time, some drinks, food and watch some football. We sat at the bar, asked the bartender about drink specials, his response "I don't know" He didn't bother to help by asking a co worker or manager about any type of drink specials. Ordered the cheese dip which was not hot at all. Shortly after he asked for our orders, my friend ordered himself and his son dinner, I politely asked for more time to place my order which seemed to really anger our bartender/server for some odd reason. From that point forward it got worse and worse. He never proceeded to ask me for my order again and never once checked on us to make sure we were doing ok. It completely ruined our experience. Ended up just having the cold cheese dip, salsa, and some drinks due to the terrible, unfriendly service. We felt more uncomfortable the longer we stayed. OVERHEARD OUR BARTENDER TERRIBLY INSULTING US TO HIS CO WORKERS IN SPANISH, NOT ONCE BUT MULTIPLE TIMES!!!! So I ask for the check and was told to pay up front. I ended up getting 1 beer, 1 small cheese dip, and 2 jack and cokes. The cashier rang up those few items and said the total was 42.68!!! I told the man helping the cashier I got wayyy overcharged. He asked what I ordered, I told him and he said one second and went to go talk to the bartender, comes back and hands me the underserving 5 dollar tip I just left despite of all the insults and terrible service and says" here you're good now." At that point it was just a relief to leave that nightmare of a restaurant experience!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE WANTING TO HAVE A NICE...
Read moreWe first discovered Los Tarascos on google maps while on a road trip.
With an overall 4.2 out of 5 rating, and our love for Mexican food, we decided to give Los Tarascos a shot.
I mean why not right? Los Tarascos was cheap, had healthy options, and sounded much better than eating more fried food on the road trip. Boy was I wrong...
Here's how it all went down:
Apperizer-Chips & Salsa: -Ill give them a pass on their chips as they came out pretty fresh.
-the salsa was mid at best. Nothing special, just slightly modified tomato sauce.
-water tasted like dirt, the lemon couldn't even save it
Maincourse- Chicken Fajitas and 3 Enchiladas:
-Chicken fajitas were unseasoned & came to the table with no sizzle. I was able to touch the cast iron as soon as it hit the table...
-Enchilada trio featured drained dry beef wrapped in Luke warm corn shells, made with canned aluminum-tasting sauce
Cherry on the cake: -No soap in women's bathroom -finishing the meal felt like punishment, the only reason we were able to is because we were THAT hungry
To Wrap it all Up: -Overall experience was MID in almost every way imaginable prices were cheap, but you def get what you pay for
Overall Rating: 2...
Read moreI've lived in King's Mountain for 15 years and starting dining there when it was Mi Pueblito. Though the name changed, the menu hasn't. First, the staff is always great. Even on the busiest nights we never wait very long for a table or an attentive server. They're always on the ball. Second, we have never had a bad meal there, and we go there at least 2-3 times a month for dinner. The food is always excellent! One of my favorites is "La Favorita". Last night (Aug 8, so still in pandemic) Los Tarascos was open at reduced capacity. I ordered my favorite again. Only this time it wasn't excellent. It was absolutely fantastic! I mean, really fantastic! I can only guess that with fewer patrons to cook for, the guys in the kitchen were allowed to take a little more time to perfect each meal. Not only did I tip my server, but I also tipped the cook! Third, the prices are great, considering the portions. Unless they make major changes or close down, we will continue to be return customers of Los Tarascos for as long as we live around here. And, you won't find cheaper prices on drinks/beer in any other restaurants, period. Los Tarascos deserves every one of...
