Always a bit leery of stopping at Waffle House, these days. Emoyees seem to add incorrectly, or leave menu vagueries vague. Ordered breakfast melt. Picture shows home fries with it but doesn't mention up front, that they charge for that. My wife said in front of waitress, "get the home fries it's included". Now the waitress I'm sure, heard this, unless she's as deaf as I am. She never said a word, to correct that statement. I would happily do without, but, you know, happy wife, happy life, I ordered with. So bill comes to over $5 what it would have been, and yes, I blame the waitress. So no tip, as that went to cover the expense of the lapse in information. Getting harder and harder to justify going to the Waffle House chain, while on the road, because this seems to be a chain wide failure, in all but one Waffle House I've been to in the past couple of years. No other establishment I've patronized, has treated me like this, and I'm not so self centered to think I'm the only one being billed. Corporate needs to look into this, because it will get worse before it gets better. I'm sure most people won't gripe about a buck, here or there. I sure didn't at first. But it seems the chain has been filled with people who will consistently pull this on unsuspecting patrons, who maybe once in a great while, stop in. Maybe regulars aren't getting hit as hard. Only know my case history and not happy. There are plenty of other places to eat, even if not quite as convenient. Corporate needs to clean their house. Once or twice more, and I write you off my books. For this one reason, I give a huge thumbs down on stopping at Waffle House, or watch...
Read moreDuring the early hours of July the 4th, I was driving down i85 when I lost brake pressure due to a leaking brake caliper ( yikes scary I know ) anyways I decided to walk up to the Waffle House by the exit where I had parked my vehicle. Anyways I walked in to have a seat and just get out of the heat. As I walked through the door a young, African American gentleman with gold jewelry greeted me and asked how I was. Let me tell you this goes sooooo far for the individuals going through a good bit of stress. So I sit down and very shortly after two female employees, both with fantastic social and customer service skills, asked if I was going to be eating in or dining out. I informed them on the situation and asked if it was okay for me to stay momentarily. The young lady was kind enough to give me a cup of ice water and even offered me something to eat! So awesome! I kindly refused the offer out of pride but as the young women talked to me she kind of made me feel like I could say yes. So I kept it simple and got some hash browns. Well it doesn’t stop there, one of the ladies whispered to me that the good Lord himself told her to ask me. Which takes me back to yesterday when I nice elderly lady said that if you believe in the good lord that he will Provide you with everything you NEED. And let me tell you I NEEEDED those hash browns. So to conclude this novel of s review I would like to give a huge thank you to the two ladies and the gentelmsn who turned my horrific night into a reminder that God will never let...
Read moreJust left there - Saturday 28th. Arrived around 11:15. There was a line, finally ordered my To Go order an hour later. Received my food and left at 12:40. During this 1.5 hour long visit (for a egg & cheese biscuit), I witnessed 4 plates get thrown out because they were made wrong, a customer that was there WELL before me only received half her food and she was still waiting for the forgotten food or a refund after I left (the staff hadn’t helped her yet) The white lady that was there that night just left... walked right out to have a nervous breakdown is what the other employees were saying. I’m a retail manager. I worked 26 hours straight during Black Friday. I definitely know how hectic feels.. but walking out because your customer let you know you forgot half her order just isn’t it... if that older white man that’s the cook and that little ol white lady that works during the week would have been working tonight, I’m positive everything would have went smoothly. It’s all about how you handle it and your customer service. And tonight just wasn’t it. I feel bad for the girl that just wanted her forgotten food. They should have put everyone else aside to finish her order plus given her a refund. Tonight was just a hot mess all the way around! But shoutout to the other 2 waitresses that had to pick up the slack with a building full of people for the lady that decided her job...
