I've been coming to Goldsteins for 25 years. Always been a favorite of mine. But I think that may change. My standard order is a large turkey hoagie. Well what I got today was on a MUCH smaller bun, and with less meat than a subway hoagie. It was so light when I picked it up that I thought maybe they forgot to put the meat on it. That actually happened once years ago and it was worth a good laugh. I've never had a bad meal here, and never been disappointed, but this... If this is the new normal, then I'm going to have to make my #2 choice my #1. Its just really disappointing. The service has been a little questionable a few times the past year or so, but the food was always top notch. Now you're getting an insultingly small amount of food for the same price... Yeah, things are tough all around, but when I can make 2 hoagies twice as big as this one with stuff I buy at the store, then that's just a better use of my money. This is how you ruin an institution. How you lose customers who have been faithfully coming for decades.

First time back here in about 25 years, maybe a bit longer. Where the outside still looks the same the inside is different. Now not sure how long but they offer a small seating area for dine in. I ordered the ham and cheese club with a side of macaroni salad. The Mac had a different style taste to it, not as creamy as I'm used to but still delicious. This club was delicious, watching them make this I noticed the detail from cooking the bacon in their pizza oven, yes you can get yourself a pizza there too. The bread was toasted nicely as well. Kudos to the staff, especially the guy who was directing traffic, not sure if he was the manager or owner however he looked like he took the lead with the shift. Definitely will be back and recommend all to try, if you haven't been there in a while they would love to have your business. Until next time be blessed and stay safe.

It was my first time visiting and this place is a gem. The interior is very hip and casual. The design is comforting yet trendy with a cool open kitchen concept & bar to enjoy an urban/city styled bistro. I dined at a table and they also have a super cute outdoor seating and bar in the back with a small parking lot if street parking isn’t your thing. Service is casual & attentive. Very laid back vibe & friendly. Food was fireeeee. Super indulgent options and creative combinations I haven’t seen matched anywhere else. Unique and your taste buds won’t be disappointed We got grilled cheese cheesesteak on garlic toast (epic) + garlic parm truffle fries which were outta this world. Also got a yummy cucumber watermelon refreshing mixed drink & a bacon burger panini. You gotta try their twilight bites!! Prices were decent and food was generous portions we left stuffed.

Please read this before getting food here.

So I was a waiter here for 3 total days before I had a aggressive back and forth with the owner Dan. And ill explain.. but i told him I would walk out and never work again if this happened again. The next day Instead of him telling me himself he made his new manager on her first day fire me.

Now let me go into these details. During the dinner rush Dan decided to start doing tile work in the kitchen right next to where they prepare the food. I accidently stepped on a tile he was working on that he glued recently (in the kitchen during dinner where food is prepared). I am working on getting food out not paying attention to tiles hes gluing in the kitchen during the busiest part of the night. He freaked out on me in front of all my peers working. Then when I told him I wanted to talk after work he ignored me. Then finally when we closed i went up to him again and he told me I take zero accountability for not apologizing for stepping on a recently glued tile he decided to work on during dinner rush.

Nobody in the customer service industry should ever have to deal with that. And Dan I know youll read this. IF our conversation happened to be recorded you should allow people to hear it. But I am not saying thats true or not. Let them see your character as man and boss (Or Lack there of) This man doesn't deserve your business but it stinks because the ladies up front working their behinds off for him are lovely and amazing. I wouldn't ever recommend coming here but if you do... buy the cheapest item and tip those poor waitresses and workers the best you can. You can see the reviews yourself about this place and it starts from the top.

I worked has a waiter for 5 years and never in my life have I worked for such a self absorbed baby. So sorry I didnt "memorize" your tiles and the soda gun after one day. But you dont disrespect people that are working for you for you doing something so incredibly stupid like redoing the freaking tile floor during the height of dinner. Right next to where food is prepared.

If it wasnt for the great people that work there I would be more ruthless and get into more specifics but Pierce St. Deli is around the corner down the road. Go there before giving this man your hard earned money that is more and more valuable everyday. There is a reason that help wanted sign in the window...

I'll start with I was craving a turkey club all day really didn't matter where it came from . But I decided on goldstein's when I saw a special on their website for a turkey club and fries (which has since been removed since my call) Person stated they don't have that special. I guess in the end they would just use the information I provided them to update their site rather than honor their advertising. I could have just changed my mind and not order from Goldstein's when the polite employee answered the call but I remember Goldstein's being a good place for lunch. Well just like everything in the valley anymore it's mediocre food for an overpriced amount. I understand the fries are hand cut and homemade but they lacked flavor and were a soggy clump in a box. The rye bread from the club tasted the best. The shredded iceberg lettuce was browning already and the turkey was just average. I also don't recall a club only being cut in half. It's possible they do this for rye bread only but the appearance was only of a triple Decker sandwich. No tooth picks holding together, no over abundance of meat that would require a third slice of bread. Definitely not a justifiable way to spend 15 dollars. I give one star overall because the price point, the misrepresented daily special on website even when showed to the gentleman at the counter. The two stars for the food because I also got a pre packaged brownie that was quite good. And two stars on service because the gentleman was polite in person and on the phone but still the take it or leave it mentality when shown their error set a bad customer service experience for me. No rating on atmosphere because it was just a...

Stopped in for takeout last night, we knew that they closed at 7pm. It was already 6:45, we would not be attempting to order anything hot (maybe next time!)... he said his Italian sandwich was very good, as was my chicken salad sandwich. Worth it for the price, mine must have weighed over a pound! The Jewish rye didn't quite go with mine, but it was my choice, I'll just get different bread next time. I added some veggies, all fresh, hot peppers, and chipotle mayo and mustard for extra kick. Know what I didn't find? Gristle in the chicken, or stem pieces from the peppers! This tends to be a big problem at some other places for some reason! I also like the fact that they use coated paperboard boxes for sandwiches instead of mountains of Styrofoam. Staff was very nice. Also grabbed a few bonus items that most other places don't have- Costa's Club Sandwiches (made in Pottsville!), gummy geckos for the nephew, Ring Pops for the niece :-) They also have Fun Dip, candy cigs (lol), and those weird satellite wafers... look around while they prep your food... I still have to try the River Rat cheeses next time! See you again soon...
