Finally the Korean BBQ is open!!!
First, the place is very spacious. There is plenty of room for social distancing, if that is what you are looking for. They have tables for two, four, and even for big crowds. (Note: I'm not sure if the area of the restaurant is available for renting).
The vibrant interior colors, with its industrial lights & stools, the place gives off a modern vibe with a minimalistic under tone.
The service was welcoming by the smile and a hello from the lady upfront. Since the Korean BBQ just open, my order took a little longer that I liked, as expected. I'm sure a few weeks from now, the service will be quicker. By the way, HELP is wanted by the by the "Help Wanted" sign outside.
The place was extremely clean.
I ordered the Chicken Katsu W/ Mac Salad because I wanted to compare it to the Chicken Katsu from my favorite place in Honolulu, Hawaii. The cutlets were light and crispy, as it should be in my opinion. The mac salad was no Hawaii Mac Salad, but its ok. I also ordered some fried dumplings. The dumplings had a unique crispy margin, and filled with the right portion of pork.
Why not a Five Star? Its a new place and only time will tell if it earns a Five star. Would I come back to this place? Yes! Do I recommend Big Bowl Korean BBQ? Yes! Baby Chairs? No Recommendation? Hip, light trendy music playing. Or just some...
Read moreI’ve tried the chicken, pork, and fish katsu and also the spicy chicken. All have been really good over the white rice. The shrimp tempura was really good too. Only complaints I have are for the macaroni salad and the “spicy” sauce. The macaroni salad is only macaroni mixed with so much miracle whip, nothing else, which is not a true Korean macaroni salad. It could use some pepper, some diced mini cucumber, Dijon mustard and a drizzle of honey to make it a bit more of an authentic Korean Mac salad (Banchan). Less miracle whip would be good too. The “spicy” sauce isn’t spicy at all. I see why many people in town say it’s “white washed”. I added sriracha to it and it made it much better for the spice level. This restaurant definitely needs to make minor changes to be a bit more of an authentic...
Read moreI got the spicy chicken with macaroni and kimchi. I tried my friend's Korean BBQ sauce which was all delicious. The chicken was very tender and the portion of rice and chicken were big. The kimchi and macaroni salad were small portions but I stayed very satisfied. I tried a taste of the 911 sauce. If you like very spicy you will like this. I prefer my food to be not too spicy so for me, it tasted like it was stirred with Satan's pitch fork. It took a while for my tongue and lips to cool down. Regardless, the food was delicious. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable. It was not too loud and it was clean. I'm glad they are still open and I will definitely be...
