Beary Smokey Smokehouse — Restaurant in Kinston

Worst BBQ I have ever had. I had the 3 meat sample platter. Ribs were very salty. The bbq chicken tasted like I bit into a salt block. The brisket was good super tinder. But due to the first two meats I couldn't get the salt taste out of my mouth. The collard greans were ok and the coleslaw was not much to talk about. The lemonade tasted flat more like a melted down jolly rancher. My wife had the brisket and she said it was salty for her as well. The jalapeño Mac and cheese was very good. The cowboy beans we both took a bite and agreed we should of tried the potato salad. The restaurant was clean and appeared very nice but no music and you could hear everyone's conversation. We ended up becoming friends with the couple next us due to a private conversation being non-existent. They also agreed the food was extremely salty. And agreed the price is on the higher side for what you get. On a positive note, our server was super amazing...

Went in for lunch, and I was surprised we were the only ones there. I had the loaded nachos, and they were out of this world. I chose to go with the brisket. The meat was so flavorful. Honestly, I've never even liked brisket till yesterday. We also ordered a BBQ sandwich along with a hot dog kids meal and a grilled cheese kids meal. Everyone was very satisfied with their food. I can't wait to go back and try the quesadilla. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. We had 2 kids with us, and they took them upstairs and showed them around. Our server, Glenda, I think, was extremely helpful and courteous. This place is unlike anything else Kinston has to offer. I highly recommend Beary...

My boyfriend,our friend and myself went in this afternoon...We all 3 had the brisket, green beans and cabbage..It was very fresh and perfectly prepared..We left miserably stuffed ...Needing a nap.. I live in Georgia and come up to see my bf often..This place was one of those wanting something different. We were so glad that we found Bearys . We all agreed that we will definately be back..And soon.. Our friend just moved to Kinston..We look forward to seeing yalll again.. Also Thank you for keeping my phone and making an effort t o find me.Thats like my right hand..lol The food,service, and experience was for sure 5 star.. See you all soon.. I have some banana pudding for...
