Really sliding down hill...Just a mess of a process to book a happy hour. Offered the meeting room with options for a buffet or ordering off the menu. Then the day of the event, just about 4 hours prior to the schedule arrival time, let us know that we had a minimum food order of $300 to use the room. Of course tax and automatic gratuity would be offered. When asking about a guaranteed beverage bill, they assumed we would be drinking, but it isn't factored into any of the minimums. Manager Marty was less than accommodating, the worst type of service manager I have worked with in years and blamed the miscommunication on his "newer" manager that set us up. We didn't have a budget for our not-for-profit to fork over nearly $400 for the training meeting. Lost opportunity, when we try to bring you 25 business and community leaders to your store for a great experience and when given the chance to make it a better than ideal situation, no common courtesy. The t-ravs, un hot wings and pizza weren't very good. Had plenty of food left over that no one wanted to take home. At least they let us run separate checks with our amazing server. He was the highlight of the evening. Ethan is the only reason why this rating wasn't all single stars. Our experience in using the meeting room was also spoiled by the constant distraction from the coming and going to and from the kitchen, with kitchen noise, and a creaky door that must have been the only way in and out of the kitchen. Having a temporary barrier or utilizing the other entrance at least while we had a presentation going on would have been the respectful thing to do. Lost cause keeping this store in business, only a matter of time it seems. ...
Read moreHorrible service. When I say horrible I truly mean horrible. I’ve been there 10 times and the place never ceases to amaze me.
Last night I was trying to get a “to go” order and some young intoxicated adults were blocking open chairs in front of the bar. I asked them if they could move over so I could sit and they wouldn’t. The young bartender could see I was annoyed and decided to show off in front of the girls and loudly said “Hey Hey. You’ll let them order.”
I said nothing to deserve that. I said nothing at all. When they moved I sat down and told the bartender he should never speak to a customer like that. The bartender was extremely arrogant. This wasn’t the first time I’ve seen this behavior in him. Typical guy that wears a cardinal jersey and thinks he’s on the team.
I went over to PJs Tavern. They’re ALWAYS nice over there. ALWAYS. If you’re reading this go there. It’s directly across the street.
After I had my meal over at PJs with my wife I decided to go back and let the Manager at Mike Duffy’s know about my experience. He could have cared less. Didn’t listen. Didn’t apologize. Literally said nothing. The only thing he said was he’ll talk to the bartender to hear his side. I’m 46 years old. I wouldn’t be coming back to complain for fun. I was trying to help.
Mike Duffy needs to clear house and get a new staff. I’ve been there 10 times. It’s disappointing every time. I’ve been to PJs Tavern 200 times and it’s always been a good experience

Read moreWe were TOTALLY ready to spend Thursday nights at trivia.
PROBLEM: As a Food and beverage professional for 30 years, I was astounded at the unprofessional “Trivia Guy” when after already being there 3 weeks before and having GREAT time, we are done and I will tell everyone in the service industry-dont bother.
The week before our drinks were SO WEAK!!!! and expensive.
The food is decent but not great. I tried to speak calmly to the Trivia guy, he was demeaning, condescending and unprofessional.
I tried to have a calm discussion with him that he should be more respectful. We had 3 large groups by us. COULD NOT HEAR. Plus I am hearing impaired so 1 out of 4 trivia nightsI -asked for extra help.
He said you’re inebriated-AT A BAR (wife is bartender) I said yes but I was being reasonable. Very very very dismissive. So I guess I shouldn’t spend money on drinks at your bar because your trivia guy will insult me..
so, I have TONS OF F&B friends who will hear and I am posting on Social Media.
If your Trivia guy is costing you business and you’re ok with that , it’s not the place for me or hundreds of my F&B friends.
too bad. we were all so excited for these evening’s our server was fabulous...
