Our second visit, in less than a month. A MUST after a spectacular & authentic meal the first time. Four of us dined the first time & all raved at the authenticity of the local freshly sourced ingredients, perfect food preparation, completed with visually artistic & tantalizing culinary presentation. All four meals were done to perfection!! A refreshing surprise in Kirtland, Oh.
Upon entering Casa Rosa, you are immediately, very warmly & enthusiastically greeted by Nico at the entrance, as if you have entered his personal residence! Maria was our server, both times. Maria has a wonderfully melodic Greek accent which is music to our ears!! Maria’s attention to culinary detail is delineated by pride as she describes the specials & explains menu favorites. My husband’s salmon disappeared in record time without a criticism, as done at the first visit. My Australian lamb chops were prepared medium rare as requested. Maria’s genuine glee at seeing my lamb chops stripped/gnawed to the bone was laughable. The asparagus was roasted to al dente perfection, & the truffle mashed potatoes were a rich & creamy golden consistency. Maria’s glee & pride at my empty plate, was as genuine as if she had prepared the meal herself! 😱
The delight & pride that each staff member exudes, including chef & kitchen assistants is apparent in Casa Rosa’s meticulous meal prep & artistic visual presentation. The genuinely endearing human atmosphere, highlighted by enormous staff pride, results in Casa Rosa’s exquisite production of a fine fining, culinary experience, like no other in North East...
Read moreWhat an incredible dining experience! From the moment we walked through the door, the entire staff made us feel welcome. We were greeted by Chef Todd, and someone immediately held the door open for us. That kind of hospitality sets the tone for the whole evening.
The proprietor, Frank, personally came over to shake our hands and share his favorite menu items. He encouraged us to take our own tour of the place and talked about exciting future plans, including a patio and cigar bar. It's clear this is a family-run establishment that truly cares about their guests.
Start with their Old Fashioned. It's exceptional, made with fresh muddled orange and Luxardo cherries and the drink packs a punch. The complimentary bread service alone is worth mentioning: incredibly fresh, almost succulent bread served with quality oil for dipping.
Now for the star of the show: Chef Todd's risotto is hands down the best I've ever had. Usually I think of risotto as a supporting player, but here it rivals the perfectly prepared fresh scallops it accompanies. If you like scallops or even think you might enjoy risotto, order this dish without hesitation, as you won't be disappointed.
Save room for the chocolate cake. This incredibly rich, moist dessert is otherworldly, and the portion is so generous we took half home for the next day.
The photos don't lie; everything tastes as good as it looks. We drove 40 minutes to get here and it was absolutely worth every minute. We left thoroughly impressed and are already planning our return visit. Highly...
Read moreDinner reservations at 5pm this past Saturday evening, seated upstairs which could be an issue for some folks climbing the steep stairs. My wife's Martini and my Manhatten were good. Shared stuffed peppers and mussels were good. My daughter and son in law enjoyed their shared salad with goat cheese, bread served was very good.My wife and I both ordered the Conchigle Salsiccia Italana, sauce was a light tomatoe based but flavorful, but neither one of us could find or taste any sausage in the dish. My daughter enjoyed the Pasta Papolet as did my son in law who liked the pasta special. My biggest complaint was the noise, it was so loud we had difficulty having a conversation, they need some sort of noise reduction. The young female server was excellent... Total check before tip was $200.
In answer to the owner, I've been to homes of Italian families and many other Italian restaurants and never had that noise level,...
