I went to Casa Vieja Kissimmee on Saturday night 10/26/24 around 8:50ish. By the time my party was called it was about 9:20ish. While waiting for the server I asked my party if they wanted the order to go. The structure and atmosphere felt off, but they decided the wait time deserved the stay. When the server finally arrived, we asked to start with water (and was ready to order as well). This place does not serve cup/glass of water, only bottles. She pointed at the drink menu, a different menu than the main one, and asked us if we wanted some time to look it over, we said yes. Looked it over, they had a nice selection of different types of drinks. Decided fairly quickly what we wanted. Some time passed, the server did not come back until the hostess noticed we were not being served, asked us if we had ordered, and then called her over. We ordered our drinks and food, 2 mofongos, but wait, they had run out of plantains. Got up and left after that. How does a Puerto Rican cuisine restaurant run out of plantains? Your menu is shaped like a pilon (the thing they use to make/serve mofongos) yet no mofongo. Plantains are easy to acquire. Why is this restaurant not stocked with them? But ok, things happened, the correct approach is to put a sign on your door letting guests know what you have run out of or instruct the hostess to inform everyone when they sign in, take your pick. A review from this same night points out they were there about 2 hours before us and were told there were no plantains when ordering. So, they had time to make an announcement earlier. Instead, they waste clientele's time. Very inconsiderate and disrespectful to do this. Also, I have been to all different types of price-range restaurants, serving a cup or glass of water with some lemon or lime is standard. They should consider adding this. The server did not help the situation. She had a bit of a superior attitude, very unpleasant. Didn’t get her name but she had maybe light brownish hair, not thin but also not the opposite, my guess is she was in her 30’s. The worst restaurant in Kissimmee goes to Casa Vieja. If you are looking for Puerto Rican cuisine, go to Pal Campo Restaurant. It’s about 20-25 min drive from this place but well worth it. If you are looking for something closer and are open to another type of cuisine, I highly recommend Mexican Restaurant La Mexicana 10. Only 5 minutes away from this place. You won’t regret going to either of these places. They both offer great food, atmosphere, music, service, the works! Pretty much everything Casa Vieja lacked. I hope they can use this feedback to shape up. Sorry to the other reviewer who was celebrating a birthday here (see 1-star review before this one if seeing from...
Read moreCasa Vieja Restaurant offers great service and a pleasant dining experience. Our waitress was professional, courteous, attentive, and friendly, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. However, the wait time to be seated was longer than expected, even with several open tables.
The digital menu was a bit difficult to navigate since many dishes were listed with just a name and picture, without descriptions. Thankfully, our waitress was very knowledgeable and helped us understand the options.
For our appetizer, we ordered the Sorullitos, which were amazing—freshly made with melted cheese inside. Happy hour had a great variety of choices, and the menu featured a wide selection of dishes. We tried the "5 Potencias," which includes crab meat, churrasco, sweet plantain, avocado, and mofongo. Unfortunately, they were out of avocado, so we had to substitute with extra plantain. Given that avocado is a key ingredient in many of their dishes, it was a little disappointing that they didn’t have any.
The "5 Potencias" was still delicious, with freshly made ingredients and perfectly cooked, tender churrasco. We also ordered the snapper fillet with rice mamposteao, which was fresh and flavorful. The food presentation was excellent.
Prices are slightly higher than comparable restaurants in the area that offer similar quality and ambiance. However, the environment was pleasant, with plenty of space between tables, and parking was easy to access with plenty of spots available.
Overall, the food and service were great, and I would recommend Casa Vieja Restaurant to others. A few minor improvements could make the experience...
Read moreI normally don’t like to leave a reviews, no where but I have to say I’m disappointed with my last visit at Casa Vieja. Every time we have been there we enjoy the music, the service, and just the vibes and I’m one that likes to go back where it’s good but during our second to last visit we ordered a churrasco that claimed to be 10oz but was very small in size and thin and we decided to let it go. Last night, while we were giving the churrasco plate a second chance, again it was over cooked even tho asked medium well and thinner and smaller than the last time. it’s safe to say there was more in the rice serving than the actual churrasco. When inquired by our lovely waitress she asked the manager whom said that it’s by weight but I’m sure that they are not weighing each churrasco they serve and if they were I’m sure the serving would be thicker or longer. Let alone, if you get a complaint why not serve us a reasonable descent steak. The worst part is that they lost money cause they lost the churrasco they served us with rice and beans and we ordered a cheaper plate. I feel like that could have been solved in a different manner being that we are recurrent clients.
Our server Guirley, was very sweet and attentive and HER service was outstanding and has been the same all the times we have been there, she gets all the 5stars.
Again, Casa Vieja is a nice place to go to I do love going there and I’ve recommended it to a lot of people but if you guys are going to down grade the churrasco then don’t come here for a decent serving of steak cause you will...
