First time in Kissimmee, Florida, en route to the Everglades — the adventure we had planned for the day — but before diving into the wetlands, we made a spontaneous stop for breakfast/brunch and landed at Matador Tacos and Tapas Bar. Let me just say: this was one of the best decisions we made on the trip. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine hospitality and a cozy yet modern atmosphere. The bar area is adorable, with rustic wood touches, hanging lights, and a vibe that makes you want to sit and sip something refreshing — even if it’s only 10 a.m. The food? Incredible. Bursting with flavor, made from fresh ingredients, and clearly crafted with love. I ordered a Latin-style breakfast dish that tasted like something straight from abuela’s kitchen. My travel partner tried their breakfast tacos and couldn’t stop raving about them. Every bite was comforting, flavorful, and satisfying. One of the staff mentioned they have live music on the weekends, and I could just imagine how magical the place must feel in the evening. It’s the kind of spot where locals gather and travelers feel lucky to discover. Also worth noting — plenty of parking, clean restrooms, fast service, and family-friendly. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite or a place to linger, Matador checks all the boxes. If you’re traveling through Central Florida, especially on your way to the Everglades, Disney, or any of the nearby parks, don’t skip Matador. It’s the kind of local spot you wish you had back home. I can’t wait to return — and next time, I’m staying for dinner and drinks under the weekend lights.

Matador is a great new addition to Historic Downtown Kissimmee! If you’re looking for an intimate, upscale place to share some drinks and tapas with friends after work, Matador is for you. My family and I enjoyed their house made guacamole, chicken empanadas, tererra paella, and for dessert a bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. All of our dishes were brought to the table hot from the kitchen by the attentive and friendly staff. Much of the menu is devoted to shareable portions of food, such as small corn tortilla tacos and empanadas, and their are options for vegetarians as well. In addition to enjoying the food, we also were treated to entertainment during our meal, including Flamenco dancers and live jazz music. Check their Facebook page for upcoming events and performances, including live Mariachi. As far as value, this is not intended to be a t shirt and flip flops affair, so expect to pay a bit more for the experience. Overall, I thought the pricing was fair.

So my review for this place is mixed. Some items were miss and some were great. I ordered the skirt steak , I think churrasco Al matador on menu ? It was ok , good not great. There wasn’t any seasoning at all , not even salt&pepper , I’d maybe even say a light dusting of Adobo. It seemed like it was cooked on a flattop and not a grill so it was more steamed than grilled. The beans that came with this I was told were charro beans , but had that sweet bbq beans taste you might get from Sonny’s BBQ. , id maybe even say offer chimichurri on the side for flavor ? The flan and fried cheesecakes that we had were excellent. The chicken empeñadas were great The place seemed really dead the day we went in but I’ve heard it’s only really busy on the weekends. I feel like the place has potential but maybe the employees don’t care that much at the product / service that the customer receives.

HORRIBLE. After making a reservation 2 days prior to Mothers day, when we got there they switched us from table to table 3 times. When finally seated I got a Sangria Pitcher, Cheese and Meat platter, Mozzarella sticks and Tostones Locos. Sangria was like water with flavor, Tostones were very good, Mozzarella sticks never came and the cheese platter was only ONE cheese and hams. When we were going to order the server could not answer any of our questions (it’s okay if you just started but not okay on Mothers weekend) we mentioned that we had seafood allergies and the owner or chef came out and told us that they couldn’t cook most of the items on out order cause they fry the calamari in the same oil that the fries/tostones (which we had already eaten), wings, etc. How can you on Mothers day weekend not have separate fryers. If you don’t have you NEVER come out and tell your customer you can’t make it. I rather have them told me that is gonna take longer than they cant do it. We had to leave, I still paid about $50 for the things we did get (overpriced) and had to end up in a place where we always go cause everything was booked for the night. Very Disappointed...

I’m not one to give out bad reviews. But this place was not it. Came in with my family today. There was an event in the block for breast cancer awareness. Live dj inside. Nice decor but the food. OH MY GOD. First, none of the food came at the same time. No silverware.had to ask for that. Ordered queso and chips. Came in with sharp cheddar cheese on top and the sauce was clumpy. Asked the waitress if I could order the tacos matador plus since it was a dinner menu option. She said yes. It literally looked like left overs from the night before. The “refried beans” looked like they took it out of the can and put it straight into the plate. A big clump of it. Rice was vegetable rice with wayyyy too many onions. The chorizo tacos were beyond Spicy and the steak was hard and dry. Saw in other photos how it comes with green and red salsa, mines did not. Tortillas were soggy.. Nachos locos plate was even worse, way too greasy a big lump of ground beef and sour cream. None of us finished our food and honestly left with upset stomachs. It was just not good.literally was hurt to pay 100...
