From the sidewalk you'll see a wide variety of wildlife including birds of all types (even eagles, sometimes!) Want to see a gator? In the evening before sunset you should be able to see several floating in the water. There is usually a smallish one in the little cove to the left of the lighthouse.
There are two playgrounds and a splash pad that is open in summer. All of the buildings with the yellow siding have decent restrooms and water fountains. There are some tables available for picnics, but the pavilions are often reserved for parties. If you want to bring a blanket there are plenty of open grassy spaces. Dogs on leashes are welcome and it's a nice place to walk them. There are stations with bags to dispose of their poop located around the park. You can walk, run, skate, and use hoverboards on the wide sidewalks. Some families bring their kid's bikes and electric vehicles and the parents will walk along with them. You can fish from the seawall or docks and there is also a boat ramp and a restaurant at the marina. There is plenty of free parking, but you might have to park at the grass lot across from the marina and walk about a block or the nearby free public parking garage when they are having events...
