Zimmie’s Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Florida

I came here with my family of four on a Saturday night about 8pm and there was only one table available with only two chairs at it. We had to ask people at other tables for two chairs that they weren't using. They only had the patio open and not the inside. They had heaters available but they were not turned on and it was probably 60 degrees outside. The people there were also very loud and screaming at times. It was almost like a bar atmosphere minus the loud music and dancing and just loud screaming people. They had TV's all around playing sports. They also have a full bar. The food was expensive and not good. The staff was nice and the service was good though. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was terrible. Honestly the worst chicken sandwich I've ever had. I think I must have gotten a bad cut or something because it wasn't undercooked or anything like that but it was very grainy and tasted like it had been in a freezer for a while or something. I work at a restaurant and never send any food back when I go out to eat, but I had to send this back, I couldn't even eat half of it. My dad got the cheeseburger and he said that was okay so I ended up getting that and it was very average. The manager was very nice about the whole situation which I appreciated. My sister and mom split a pizza and they said it was not that good. I don't know if it's always like this but I would not recommend this place. It is right next to the pool so it would be convenient to just get drinks at the bar and sit...

Love the pool and the convenience of the pool bar restaurant. Service was so-so but I'm not sure if was our servers fault. I think he may have been over seated inside & then given tables outside. But... the food came out sporadic, everyone got theirs except me, when I asked about it, he checked & said they made my order wrong so it was being corrected. I ordered a burger with mushrooms & swiss.

Ok so it was not on the menu, originally. I get that, I ordered the Portabello & Swiss cheese mushroom burger. He shared with me (before we completed ordering) the mushroom was the burger. Ok I get it, so I said ok " I'll just get the cheese burger, can I still have swiss? He said "of course", I asked "is it possible to add mushrooms? If not no big deal" He checked all was good, excepted mine didn't come out. No problem he'll check on it. About 30 minutes after everyone else was done mine came out. It was the Portabello swiss burger sandwich with a patty of beef and more mushrooms. Very very messy! The bun was so soggy it couldn't be picked up. I ate some of it but it was just so soggy.

He was apologetic.... whoopie, I felt like he should have taken it off the bill. We should have asked but didn't, so that's on us. Good service would have offered. So that's my take on Zimmie's The big buckets of drinks made things not so...

Mostly Great Experience with a few exceptions. Upon arrival around 6pm no one was at the host stand or dining room. Waited 5 mins and then walked in the back to let them know we were there.

once seated ... the menu looked good. We had 2 appetizers (1) The Spare Ribs were amazing and tender and juicy. (2) The meatballs though had flavor were precooked reheated frozen meatballs... and you could tell. They were flavorful but not what I would pay for the money.

Entres ... she had burger and fries ... very tasty and flavorful.

I had the fish with mango and mixed veggies and mashed potatoes. They were good not great and the veggies looked precooked frozen reheats like the meatballs (they tasted bland but that's what salt n lepper are for).

We let the Server know about the frozen meatballs and he gave us free dessert which was fantastic... brownie sundae with Vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

Our server was polite and very attentive throughout the meal and the manager was as well.

Despite the issues, the short ribs and the ice cream along with the service are why this is a 4 star vs 3 star review. The atmosphere was like a hotel lobby restaurant... it was okay but not what I would expect for the prices...
