Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Knoxville

Jake, Cassie, and Selena were absolutely wonderful when accommodating my private baby announcement to my husband!! I had called after finding out we were unexpectedly pregnant. I was super excited in the person who answered the phone matched my energy. We had arranged that when we showed up and they would ask… “Table For 4?” And hopefully my husband would have gotten it. But he didn’t lol. It went right over his head, needing stronger reinforcements, I had brought my positive pregnancy test and gave it to the person while “using the bathroom“ Our server Jake, who coordinated our whole visit, had people filming all around the restaurant to catch this special moment. After a couple of minutes, he came out surprising my husband with a molten lava cake with “Oh Baby!” Written with chocolate syrup on a plate with a test my husband didn’t know what to think! It was very cute and very funny!!

After eating and enjoying our meal, and speaking with the manager, very nice dude by the way!! We were ready to pay, when we asked for the bill, Jake informed us that it was already taken care of! Thank you so much Applebees for the Wonderful Meal and accommodations!! Thank you most importantly for celebrating with us and for our new addition in our family. This location has displayed humanity, humility, generosity, and the classic golden rule of loving your neighbor.

We will be back. Not only for the Piping Hot food that served Fresh and Fast… but for the people!

My Recommendations: -my Husband and I love going to the endless breaded shrimp, Chicken tenders, and ribs. -the balsamic vinaigrette for the salad is very good! -the sweet Asian chili for the wing flavor is absolutely tasty and wonderful -Jake, Cassie, or Selena as a server!! -I love, love, LOVE the steak and shrimp with the garlic Parmesan cream sauce -the southwest chicken bowl is the perfect meal to bring home to eat a couple of hours before bed hahaha!!

Pros: -Profound management, and employee ethics! -Outstanding, Heartfelt, customer service! -Clean restaurant and environment. -Bathrooms are upkept and always stocked! -Plenty of Parking!! -Location is great -Open Late!! -Food is FAST, FRESH, and HOT!

On June 21st 2016, my husband and I decided to try out the Applebee's located at Cedar Lane. There was plenty of parking as well as handicapped parking and yes the place is handicap accessible. As we got to the door to go in the restaurant a very pretty sweet young lady open the door and greeted us with a big smile which is exactly what I want to see when I walk into a place of business. She proceeded to sit us at our table where our server,  JT greeted us within seconds. JT pulled up a chair right next us and sat down at the table , as I knew when he did this he was going to be a great server. JT was very friendly and comical and not bad on the eyes may I say. We ordered a couple of sweet teas as we were not interested in drinking alcohol. I love alcohol but my medications do not, therefore, I just stay away from it. After getting our drinks he returned to our table for order still in a fabulous mood where we proceeded to order our dinner for the evening. Darron got a triple hog dare sandwich with sweet potato fries and I got the three cheese cavatappi. Dinner was brought to us and it was excellent. The restaurant was clean , did not have to go to the restroom the whole time so I don't know how the restrooms were. Thanks to JT our entire experience was wonderful. This is the kind of server I expect when  going to a restaurant, one that is friendly, one that smiles, one that jokes around with you, as well as brings your food quickly and also with a smile. After dinner we both had desserts.  One of us had the Apple chimichanga and the other had the triple chocolate melt molten cake .  The presentation was very appetizing  and the desserts were both excellent I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who has not tried it before or that has been to another Applebee's and perhaps disappointed. Service is very important to me as I was in the industry for over 30 years and you just don't get the same kind of service now as you did 15 years ago. We got there at 6:28 got sat aroud 6:30, so very quickly we were sat. When you walk in on the booths on the right in the 2 seater booth in the mi. No one greeted us until 6:44 some girl brown hair orange shirt cut the corner and said “oh my gosh has no one got you all yet I asked them to pick up this up 10 minutes ago” we were like no no ones got us we are ready though. She got our drinks an we ordered a salad and cheese sticks, the cheese stick came out 10 minutes later very old and cold. (At this point we only saw our server that one time so we stopped another server a man with long hair and a bun he asked for more cheese sticks for us. Our food came out before the new cheese sticks did.. (still no server) our drinks were completely empty the entire time. She was checking on another table and glanced at us ( I do believe she forgot about us) and came over and said are you ready for the bill we said yes and asked for the boxes and drinks togo since we never got any refills, she was gone for another 10 minutes and only came back put the drink and check and walked off, no bye have a good night etc just plain rude. I’ve been in the restaurant business for 10 years and would never allow my employees to act like this. We paid the bill and left we will not be coming back here.
