Waffle House — Restaurant in Knoxville

The food was absolutely amazing—exactly what I was craving! Obviously, I didn’t need it (I’ll be working out in the morning to make up for it, lol), but it really hit the spot. I’ve been to this Waffle House before and always enjoyed the food.

Unfortunately, the service this time was really disappointing. I believe the person serving me might have been a manager, based on her different-colored shirt. She asked what I wanted to drink when I first sat down, but after that, she completely disappeared once my food was brought out.

I had one earbud in because I was listening to a book, but I was still aware and open to interaction—it’s not like I was tuned out. The restaurant was loud, so I understand needing to speak up, but she never came over to ask if I needed anything else—not even a refill on water. She didn’t check in at all during my meal.

When she finally came over to clear my plate, she just looked at me. There was no friendliness or engagement. I’m a very outgoing and friendly person, and I didn’t say anything at the time because, honestly, the service just felt cold and inattentive.

I get that it was late and everyone has their own challenges—we never know what someone might be going through. But at the same time, I believe every guest deserves decent service, no matter the time or situation. Great food, but the service really needs...

Usually we go at night...which I suggest because they always have the best waitresses and cooks!!well we went in today...I called in because my other half wanted something else...well when I got there all I had was a card!! We hardly ever hold cash on us...I was informed I couldn't use it...the other people there had the same problem and they comped their meal...yet she wouldn't let me have my 5$ meal!!! We had to run to the ATM which took almost 10 minutes yet my food was not recooked for me and my husband asked her to discount since my food was most likely cold!! When we got to where he wanted to eat I opened my food and there was a Black hair on my cheese in my grits and another on the seal of my Togo plate.. I was so hungry by this time that I threw my whole meal away and ordered here where my ol man is eating!! All I was craving was eggs and grits tho!!! I AM HIGHLY HIGHLY UPSET!!! GET YOUR EMPLOYEES IN ORDER!!! NIGHT SHIFT IS AMAZING but after today we will be taking our DAILY business to Clinton hwy!! Since I've been pregnant I've been eating this waffle House everynight!! It's about all I can eat!! I really can't...

I will NEVER order here again. I literally just went in for an early breakfast, went in the to-go booth. As I walked in I said good morning and instead of being greeted back all I got was “what can I get for you?”.. Ok, brushed that off and ordered my meal. As my food came up and I went up to the register to get it I said to the girl as she was bagging it “excuse me” and again I’m met with a harsh “Yea?!”.. I was so taken aback that I instantly forgot was I was about to ask her for. I got it together and asked for extra butter and jelly. As she walks over to give me my food (even after all the attitude) I still want to tip her!! This girl walks over, gives me my food and before I can even lift my hand to give her the tip, she walks away! If the lady standing behind her hadn’t looked at me, she wouldn’t have ever turned back around to see me standing there with my hand out with a tip for her. I don’t know if I was more angry or embarrassed.. This location is closest to my home but I will definitely be traveling the extra couple of miles to go to the other...
