Food is always great. However we probably will not be returning unfortunately. My wife and i ordered the same meal (a combination pick 3) we both got burritos add cheese sauce instead of red sauce. On my plate I also asked for cheese on the rice. We got our ticket at the end of our meal and noticed they charged us $1.00 for cheese sauce PER item not per meal. When questioned they said we charge per item. The menu just states “add $1.00” my plate added $3.00 for cheese sauce. My wife was $2.00 and daughters kids meal added $1.00. So we paid $6.00 for cheese sauce. When we paid we also used a school coupon which was buy one get one 50% off. Our meals were $10.29 each yet they only took $4.00 off. On top of all of this service was extremely slow. Waitress gave wrong drink when sent back she never came back and went to another table to take them their drinks. Ripped off and slow service.
EDIT TO ADD
Your google reply does not rectify the situation. You were not that busy when we were in there. The waitress continued to serve her other tables with no issue. It also does not explain why you only gave $4.00 off when the coupon was for 50% off. Also your menu is not updated to reflect the price increase in the cheese sauce. When we were in there a couple of weeks prior we were not charged per item for the cheese sauce. It seems to me that you are trying to back track to cover your butts. Don’t worry we won’t be back. And fyi no other Mexican restaurant in town or out of town that I have been to has ever charged $1 per item for cheese sauce. It seems to me like y’all just wanted a bit of extra money for...
Read moreI have gone to El Charro dozens of times since I moved to the area, and it has always been excellent, up until yesterday. Every time I call in my order, I get the same thing, two cheese quesadillas and a side of rice. I called yesterday and ordered that exact meal, and the lady on the phone said it would be ready in 20 minutes. When I arrived, she was quite friendly at first and said “here are your enchiladas”. I politely corrected her and said actually, they were two cheese quesadillas. Her demeanor completely changed at that point and she said “no, I read your order back to you on the phone and you said two cheese enchiladas.” I was a little taken back when she wanted to argue in front of her other customers. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars here and go at least once or twice a month. Also, she actually never read the order back to me. Again, trying to remain polite I responded letting her know I have actually never even eaten an enchilada in my life (so I know that’s not what I ordered). My friends were actually all standing by me when I ordered the quesadillas by phone. The hostess then stormed off and carried the incorrect order back to the kitchen, from where I stood by the front door I could see her flailing her arms and complaining to the cooks about me.
I love el charro and the food has always been good but I’m not sure if I’ll go back after this. I just think this is a really unprofessional way to...
Read moreThis used to be a great restaurant. I called to place a to go order. The woman who answered put me on hold and then hung up. I called back thinking it was an accident and got their fax machine. The third time I called back, I got the same person. When i said that i would like to place a to go order she said in a sarcastic voice "what do you want." If you dont want my business, that's fine.
Update 8/15/2020:Against my better judgment I decided to order from the again. Since its month 5 into COVID, I've been ordering from Uber Eats. About a week ago, my order contained what looked like lipstick on one of the tortillas. I emailed the restaurant about it (with a picture for proof) and I haven't heard from them. Didn't even ask for my money back. That is the final nail in the coffin. It really stinks because this is a local business and I want to support them but if this is how they respond (or rather don't) then they obviously...
