The manager on duty today was worthless. She did not listen well. And gave me an attitude back when I was already in a disappointed mood. Some people just need to learn how to handle customer complaints or not be in a management position. The whole issue was a simple question of if they had diet rite soda in the store and then she answered me by asking a question did you check the shelves? I said yes I checked the shelves or I wouldn't be asking you as I didn't want to waste your time. She just seem to want to create conflict instead of diffuse the situation. I asked her if she could look up if they even stocked it at the store because I thoroughly looked for it on the shelves and didn't find it. But she couldn't even look it up. Then I asked if they had it at the other stores and she asked, would you like me to call and she left for over 15 minutes leaving me stand there. When she came back she said she couldn't reach anyone by telephone at the other two stores?? That's just ridiculous if those stores don't answer the phone. Then I was still without an answer because I didn't want to waste my time driving to those stores if they didn't have it. Then she told me that food City had it. And I said that I don't want to buy it at food City so that was wasted information. This is just a poorly poorly run store. My last four visits I have left with frustration which I don't have at the other Kroger locations I go to in south and north in Clinton highway. Get some people that know how to manage. And try to keep things in stock. I've been coming to this store way longer than anybody has worked at it for probably 30 years now and there's been some great managers in the past and some awesome hourly workers. But I just haven't had many good experiences lately and won't be back. Kroger doesn't care.. if they did they'd want to make it right or speak to me in person.
Hadn't been in this store for a while. About a week ago, I went in and went to the regular checkout and met a very pleasant càshiér woman named Turner. I told her my name and we conversed as no one was waiting after I paid my bill. I thought about never going back to the store after previous negative experiences but it was Turner who left a great first impression. Tonight, September 20th, I went in hoping I would experience her again and I had the good fortune that she was working the checkout as a cashier, Funny how research shows that often we will go into places of business not only for the products but because of how we're treated. That was the case for me tonight as I went to Turner's checkout and she had remembered my first name and I was just blown away. It's pleasant and polite and kind employees like Turner who give Kroger's a good name and make up for the less positive people and experiences that we may have....
Read moreLike any other box grocery store. Reasonable prices on sale items and things aren't "over-priced" for the most part. The problems that dropped them to 2 stars though are 1st, the meat/seafood department stinks to high heaven! As soon as you come around the corner heading toward the department you are hit with old fish stink. It is terrible! The 2nd issue is the produce department. I understand that the associates can only put out what is delivered to them but honestly, is the produce manager not able to order better quality stuff to begin with? They can't blame it on availability because other stores in the area have far better produce. Fresh Market on Kingston Pike comes to mind, as does the Kroger on Kingston Pike and Cedar Bluff for that matter. I find the associates generally nice and friendly. As with seemingly every box-grocery store in America, they never EVER have enough cashiers working. WHY do grocery stores put so many lines in when they almost always only run 1-3 lines at any given time. There are plenty of associates milling about doing various odd jobs; is it too much to ask to bring an extra couple of cashiers in to keep the customers happy, or does it cut too deeply into the bottom line? That's always a...
Read moreThe person who helped me today at around 8:30 in the morning in customer service was a white girl. She worked with extreme ill will. Very lazy, as was the person who was in the little room behind her. I lost my receipt and I had proof that I had bought something there, since it was on my credit card statement. She came into the room for a few minutes and told me that there had been no transactions with my card there in the last 2 days, even though I showed her the credit card statement. In short, the worst customer service I have ever seen in this country. A market with overpriced, “premium” items, but leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to treating customers well. Terrible experience. If they don’t have what I need at Walmart, I’ll go without it, but I won’t set foot in that place again because it doesn’t care about...
