Heidi's Bakery — Restaurant in Knoxville

Hello Heidi and Team,

I just wanted to take a moment to brag on you all. Today was my first time visiting the bakery, after salivating over your Facebook posts for a while now. As I perused the display cases, the options seemed endless. It was hard to choose, but in the end, I went with 4 bakery items, a take’n’bake pizza pasta casserole, and a delicious iced coffee that the gal at the register recommended. Her recommendation was spot on (perfect ratio of sweet and still tasting like coffee). My family and I really enjoyed the casserole this evening (and what a gift to have a night off from cooking!). After dinner, we each enjoyed sharing the bakery treats, but what made me feel the need to email you all was the key lime bar! As my husband said, “I’ve had key lime desserts all around the world, and this is the best I’ve ever had.” WOW! I know where I’ll be getting his birthday dessert come next month. 💕

It’s so nice to have such a warm, inviting place to work and/or visit in our community. You all are doing it right, and I want you to feel encouraged and uplifted! I know that running a business is hard work, and no one can truly understand all that goes into it, but thank you for making it happen! You have certainly earned my business when I find myself in the area (let’s be honest, I’ll probably make special trips just for that key lime bar).

Last thing. I also purchased some beautiful coasters. Please tell the artist who made them that I love the craftsmanship and know I’m going to enjoy them for years to come! Many blessings to you and...

Got married in July. The cake and cupcakes were not up to my satisfaction and not what was written down that we had ordered. My wife tried to complain privately after I left a negative review that I initially felt really guilty about (and took down because all I really wanted was a genuine apology from SOMEONE for messing up my wedding) and we basically got told it was all my fault and that we ordered the wrong colors. Blue wasn't even one of our wedding colors and nobody connected with the wedding party would ever have ordered anything in blue.

They also mentioned in their email that they'd overheard part of a private conversation on the phone during delivery between my parents and I about some last minute issues I was having with my dress, which I found to be incredibly rude and embarrassing. Feel like any future brides should know if anything goes wrong on your special day, they WILL be talking about you behind your back afterwards. :/

edit: continuing to defame my character by calling me a liar is crazy work. whatever helps you sleep at night. since she wants to attack my character, I included what we actually got plus the reference photo I sent the bakery for the colors we wanted on the cake and cupcakes. it was a rainbow themed wedding for two brides and they are insisting we lied and I'm just slandering her business. really though, at the end of the day, this is what I get for not checking the Knoxville area LGBTQ-friendly business list before we chose a vendor....

I contacted Heidi just from googling local cake makers. Her website came up and I thought, “Ok let’s give it a try.” I needed a cake for my son in about a week, on a Sunday at that. I sent an email and Heidi responded promptly, asked for a reference photo and we were scheduled in less than an hour. Cake was ready exactly at time promised and let me tell you….

Absolutely WONDERFUL cake!!!! It was so beautifully decorated but even more than that, it was the best cake I have ever had since I moved back home! There are many bakeries in Atlanta but when I came back home I have searched and searched for a cake (cake is my favorite) that had the richness and flavor my grandmother use to have in her cakes. I have been disappointed for 5 years. Imagine my surprise first smelling this cake and then tasting! Omg! My Mom and I ate half of it together!

We are honestly planning on ordering one next week and we have no occasion. I did not expect the cake to be buttercream frosted. I just assumed it would be fondant as I know it’s the typical especially with such an artistic cake. But Heidi NAILED it with delicious buttercream.
