I’d give 3.5 stars instead of 3 if I could. I like Remedy and find myself there almost every time I’m in town and have been going there for years. The staff however is either indifferent towards customers or just quite rude and standoffish every single time. There used to be some pretty cool and nice baristas years ago but now not so much. They’re much more interested in their own conversations or getting you away from the register as soon as possible and with minimal interaction (usually no greeting or prompt, just wait for you to speak up).
Pros: lots of seating and the place is well kept/clean. The seasonal drinks are always fun and creative and the employees seem to be good with flavors. The wifi is also reliable and there are goods to purchase such as merch, beans, and coffee accessories.
Cons: the staff is consistently unfriendly and their hot drinks are usually lukewarm. It usually feels like your drink was made as a task and nothing more.
All in all, I still do enjoy going when I can because it can be a great space to work and I’ve always had good interactions with other customers. The space is conducive to many styles, offering high top and low top tables, as well as sofa, armchair and bar seating. The location is good and also right next to a bagel shop.
Drinks I would recommend: any seasonal matcha tonic,...
Read moreSo I hung out here occasionally and after a few weeks I was told I needed to buy something to hang out. Nowhere on their website said this but okay no problem. I stopped coming for a while and came in today and I got the, "We don't like your kind around here." Vibe from the lady and she said I am not allowed in. I said I was going to buy something and she just said no. Very clearly this was because I was homeless which is pretty crappy. Not exactly illegal to deny service to homeless people but not exactly best business practice either. I have had a long day, I am getting over sickness, I work at a burger king right down the street from here. All I wanted was to buy an iced coffee and relax a few hours like the rest of the people.
No problem though, plenty of other places I can go that won't kick me out for being homeless. Everything is...
Read moreJust another hipster coffee shop with high prices. I paid $6.28 for a standard sized double shot latte with Myracle Mylk which is their own concoction of milks I don't remember what all it contains, but fava bean milk was one. I almost left without ordering because when I entered an employee decided not to acknowledge my existence however wanted to participate in answering my question that was actually directed at the kind employee who did greet me. The store is aptly decorated for spooky season with plenty of skeletons and spider webs around. They have t-shirts, mugs, coffee beans, tea, and coffee supplies for sale. The location in my opinion is odd (across from a cemetery) however it seems it's conveniently located near a relatively new housing development which explains the prices. I definitely won't be coming here again, but thanks...
