Title: A Pizza Paradise for the Discerning Palate!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
I recently had the pleasure of dining at [Upscale Pizza Place], and I must say it was an extraordinary experience. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for something special.
The ambiance is elegant and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a sophisticated evening out or a special celebration. The attentive staff, dressed in impeccable attire, ensured that every detail of our dining experience was flawless.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the pizza. Oh, my goodness! It's safe to say that I've never tasted pizza quite like this before. The crust was thin and crispy, yet perfectly chewy, providing the ideal canvas for a delightful array of toppings. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite.
I opted for the "Signature Truffle Pizza," and it was a transcendental experience. The blend of truffle oil, fresh mushrooms, and imported cheeses created a harmonious symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds. Each bite was a revelation, and I found myself savoring every moment.
The menu offers a diverse selection of pizzas, each with its own unique twist, catering to a variety of tastes. Whether you're a traditionalist or an adventurous eater, there's something here for everyone.
While it's an upscale establishment, the prices are justified by the exceptional quality and taste. This is not your average pizza joint; it's a culinary masterpiece.
To complement the meal, their wine list is extensive, offering a range of options to pair perfectly with your chosen pizza. The knowledgeable staff is more than happy to assist you in selecting the ideal wine to enhance your dining experience.
In conclusion, [Upscale Pizza Place] is a pizza lover's dream come true. If you're seeking the best pizza in town in a refined setting, look no further. It's an experience worth savoring, and I can't wait to return for another slice of...
Read moreMade reservations a month in advance for this ridiculously hyped restaurant. Made the 30 minute drive from Lenoir. We had reservations for 5 PM (opening time) . Reasonably friendly yet indifferent staff. Fresh Mozzarella and pesto app was good, but nothing out of the ordinary.. pretty standard stuff. Waited ONE HOUR for our 2 pizzas. Literally ..a table of 10 seated at the same time as us were wrapping up their meal and about to leave before we even got our pizza. The pizza: I saw the reviews and the youtube videos about how this place learned their craft authentically from Italy itself. Having moved to Knoxville from Long Island, and having lived in Manhattan.. I can tell you that real authentic pizza is not soft, wet and doughy... even the A Dopo OUTER CRUST was soft and doughy.. it had char marks but had ZERO crisp. Go to any coal or wood fired pizzeria in NYC.. the crust is light and crisp. The mouth feel of this sourdough crust was pretty poor to be honest. This place is Ranked one of the top 100 pizzerias in the entire US by USA today? Seriously? A Dopo wouldn't rank in the the top 100 pizzerias on Long Island alone. Literally EVERY town in NY has a pizzeria that blows this place out of the water. The hostess did offer us a Gelato "to go" (because our food was so late).... not sure how good melted gelato would have been .. which I declined. Nice gesture for sure..but did not negate the completely disappointing dining experience we had. Definitely will not return..
I wish the business continued success, but seeing as the owner does not respond to any review, good or bad, I feel that he is content running on inertia and perceived "exclusiveness" than attempting to tweak and perfect his craft.
The hunt for decent Knoxville pizza continues.. I feel it may be a fools errand...
Read moreA Dopo came recommended from my sister who lives in the area and I am thrilled to say we weren't lead astray.
We made reservations, arrived on time, and were immediately seated. The restaurant has a very nice open and airy feel with tables well spread out. We came in the evening and the lighting was dim in a very cozy way.
Our server, Madeline, was very attentive and gave us the rundown of the menu and specials. We started with the Ovoline (sourdough and a pistachio basil pesto with house made mozzarella) at their recommendation. This was a great decision. The bread had beautiful charring, an airy crumb, and a deliciously tangy and sour flavor. The pesto was fresh, bright, lemony, and had a rounder flavor that what I'm used to (I imagine from the pistachios). The mozzarella was absolutely delicious. Creamy, chewy, and contrasted beautifully with the sharper flavors of the pesto.
For pizzas we had the speciality (a yellow tomato sauce with okra, Calabrian chiles, and speck ham). Admittedly, the okra wasn't my favorite choice but I've had a texture aversion to it. My partner was a big fan however. We also had the pizzicletta which may have been the best pizza I've ever had. Topped with arugula, prosciutto, lemon, and olive oil with A Dopo's white sauce. The lemon and peppery arugula cut through and balanced extremely well with the creamy and rich white sauce. The prosciutto was excellent with just the right amount of salt. I could probably eat this pizza every day for a year and not get tired of it.
All in all, it was an incredible dinner at a very fair price. If you are looking for Neopolitan style pizza, look no further. A Dopo may be our new favorite restaurant in Knoxville and will absolutely be added to our list of "must visits"...
