The best bagels I have had in Knoxville! We had Asiago and everything! They were so good! Everything I expect from a good bagel! Also got the sourdough but we’re trying that tonight with dinner but it’s a pretty decent size loaf and I am really excited to eat that crusty sourdough bread! If you don’t know how to parallel park it might be a little difficult to try to park. There’s only road parking. It is next to a cemetery and there are some homeless people walking around but that’s just like everything in downtown Knoxville. You still feel extremely safe.

Oh my! The aroma of fresh bagels wafts over this funky little walk-up just around the corner from & attached to Remedy (beer & coffee & tea) at 800 Tyson--a lovely corner next to the National Cemetery. Try the lox with horseradish-dill cream cheese. Or Calabrian Chili schmear on an Everything. Very cool. Hint: Online ordering only works during their open hours. It's OK to order at the window, too. Best to park on Tyson Street & walk around the corner.

First time coming here but they have a couple unique flavors of bagels and schmears, and the sandwiches are great too. Got the tomacado on everything and it’s fantastic. They also make a country sourdough loaf that looked amazing. Apparently the staff favorite is the salt and pepper bagel, I’ll def be back to try some more! Walk up window (no indoor access) with picnic tables, and if you’re at Remedy Coffee next door they let you bring the bagels in.

I want to start out by saying that the bagel was DELICIOUS and I really wanted to love Paysan. However, my experience at the bakery was less than ideal. I most likely will not be returning and will have to deal with Panera bagels until they make a few changes. Extremely pricey - $3 for a bagel and $1.50 for plain cream cheese, $2 for any flavored cream cheese. I can get a bagel and cream cheese of any flavor for $2.69 at Panera..... I get that local places are more expensive and am very willing to pay the upcharge to a point, but an extra $2 per item? Paysan sells bagels at the farmers market for $2 and in the store for $3. Can I buy my bagel at the farmer's market and bring it in to purchase cream cheese? I waited 10 minutes for two bagel sandwiches, when there were only a few people in front of me. The two people working assembled maybe 6 bagels in front of me. Their system was extremely inefficient and they should really invest in a bagel slicer! It took too long for the price I was paying and the inefficiency actually pained...

Last Saturday at 9:45am I placed an order for 2 dozen everything bagels. I've ordered many times b4 always the same kind. Well we head over at noon and they hand my husband 1 bag of bagels. He brings them to the car and says why did you order plain cinn and sesame.. I said I didn't. Back he goes at this point we don't even realize there's only half our order. The girl says we'll you didn't check the box.. no we wrote in everything in comments like we always do. We have never had an issue here ordering that way.. she exchanges a few and sends him away still with only 1 doz bagels!? They wouldn't even admit they screwed up and only gave us half our order. ??? We did get a refund and only 6 of the 24 bagels we ordered. Plz admit your mistake next time and get the order ready WHEN we order don't wait til you have 12 bagels left and say here ya go $41 doz bagels.... what happened to good customer service?

Ps the 4 stars are for the amazing...

This place embodies the duality of man. The food is great. Genuinely one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had and the price is justified for what you get. Now, you are most definitely not getting called sugar or sweetie when you order. If that’s what you’re hoping for, you’re in for a bad time.

The people I’ve interacted with are fine by East coast standards. They definitely give off a vibe of being inconvenienced by having to make your breakfast but they’re not rude. And honestly I can’t say I blame them to a point. They’re at work, they’re not jazzed to see you but it won’t stop them from making you a great sandwich. Or maybe I’ve got it all wrong and they’ve got the personalities of a gravestone from the cemetery across the street. Either way, don’t show up in a rush, doomscroll a bit and wait for your food. You’ve probably got nothing...
