I want to start out by saying that the bagel was DELICIOUS and I really wanted to love Paysan. However, my experience at the bakery was less than ideal. I most likely will not be returning and will have to deal with Panera bagels until they make a few changes. Extremely pricey - $3 for a bagel and $1.50 for plain cream cheese, $2 for any flavored cream cheese. I can get a bagel and cream cheese of any flavor for $2.69 at Panera..... I get that local places are more expensive and am very willing to pay the upcharge to a point, but an extra $2 per item? Paysan sells bagels at the farmers market for $2 and in the store for $3. Can I buy my bagel at the farmer's market and bring it in to purchase cream cheese? I waited 10 minutes for two bagel sandwiches, when there were only a few people in front of me. The two people working assembled maybe 6 bagels in front of me. Their system was extremely inefficient and they should really invest in a bagel slicer! It took too long for the price I was paying and the inefficiency actually pained...

Read moreThis place embodies the duality of man. The food is great. Genuinely one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had and the price is justified for what you get. Now, you are most definitely not getting called sugar or sweetie when you order. If that’s what you’re hoping for, you’re in for a bad time.
The people I’ve interacted with are fine by East coast standards. They definitely give off a vibe of being inconvenienced by having to make your breakfast but they’re not rude. And honestly I can’t say I blame them to a point. They’re at work, they’re not jazzed to see you but it won’t stop them from making you a great sandwich. Or maybe I’ve got it all wrong and they’ve got the personalities of a gravestone from the cemetery across the street. Either way, don’t show up in a rush, doomscroll a bit and wait for your food. You’ve probably got nothing...
