Wings Xpress — Restaurant in Knoxville

I'm a local man, born and raised right here in Knoxville, except for the 20 years I spent in the Marine Corps. I share that because I knew of many different restaurants to go to, but I decided to try Wings Express this past Saturday. My biggest complaint, what took me so long to try this place.

It's a small, cozy atmosphere. The wings are small, but damn they are good. I ordered 10 wings with bar b que sauce. They were a bit messy, because they didn't skimp on the sauce, but that's what napkins are for.

I learned, the next time when I go there, yes I said the next time because there will be a next time and many more after that, I know now to order more wings. The price makes me wonder why I didn't order more the last time. But I will say based on their portions, my wife and I left pleasantly full, we ordered 10 wings each one order of large fries, the fries deserve their own glowing review, and one coke each, next time I'll skip the coke and get stuffed on the wings and fries.

Great, very friendly staff. This is the kind of place do not judge it from the outside. The men's bathroom was very clean. You know if the bathrooms are well maintained, that's a good indicator of the rest of the place. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and my meal.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! IF I COULD GIVE IT A ZERO I WOULD!!! I CALLED OVER THE PHONE AND SPOKE TO THE "OWNER" WHO TOOK MY ORDER. WHICH I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS THE OWNER AT THAT TIME. HE WAS VERY RUDE WHEN HE TOOK MY ORDER. I ONLY CALLED BECAUSE I SPECIFICALLY WANTED 10 LEMON PEPPERS AND 40 HOT WINGS, BUT ENDED UP GETTING 25/25 OF EACH FLAVORS. YES I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED THE BAG BEFORE LEAVING BUT I WAS A REGULAR CUSTOMER AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS AT ALL UNTIL TODAY!! I CALLED BACK TO TELL HIM MY ORDER WAS WRONG, BUT AS I WAS SPEAKING HE KEPT CUTTING ME OFF HE WOULDN'T LET ME EXPLAIN MYSELF HE KEPT SAYING "UH UH UH" YOU DIDN'T SAY THAT "BLAH BLAH BLAH" AND NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY?! UNTIL I SAID I'M VERY UNSATISFIED WITH MY ORDER HE SAID "OKAY SO I JUST OWE YOU 15 MORE HOT WINGS I'LL HAVE YOU IN THE BOOK JUST COME BY WHENEVER YOU CAN TO GET THEM" WENT AND PICKED UP MY OTHER 15 HOT WINGS YET NO APOLOGY AT ALL AND STILL VERY RUDE YELLING AT MY FACE SAYING "NEXT TIME YOU ORDER ON THE PHONE HAVE US TO REPEAT YOUR ORDER TO TO MAKE SURE IT'S CORRECT" I SHOULDN'T BE TREATED LIKE THIS AT ALL ESPECIALLY FROM THE OWNER "TOMMY" VERY DISRESPECTFUL!! NOT EVEN ONE SINGLE APOLOGY OUT HIS MOUTH FOR TALKING SO RUDE AND CUTTING ME OFF WHEN I SPEAK AND ALSO FOR TAKING MY ORDER WRONG!! HE JUST LOST A GREAT CUSTOMER FOR SURE!! I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK...

We just called for take out around 7p.m. this Sunday evening. The phone was answered, but we were immediately put on hold... and forgotten about. 5...10...15 minutes go by and the phone is off the hook and we can hear everything going on, but we're forgotten and the staff had moved on to other orders, and other personal conversations. We tried calling on another line, but was immediately sent to a full voice mailbox. When we were tired of waiting, we hung up and called back about 5 minutes later, and the same person had picked up. We explained that we were the customers who had just called, and it was meant with an annoyed voice and a "so, okay well give me a name." Then when we we're giving the order, they got the name wrong, and we had to repeat multiple points of a small order (we just ordered 50 wings). There were no apologies or offers of recourse. We hung up feeling quite a bit disappointed.

We really like this place because they have good wings, they're nearby, and we've had positive experiences in the past. However, the complete disregard to the inconsiderate way we were treated has given us second thought to our continued patronage. Hopefully, our order tonight will at least make tonight's...
