We ordered takeout from here Friday night. I had warned my friend that there were new owners and that the food was terrible, but he ordered anyway: yellow curry (spicy) and jumbo shrimp pad thai (no spice). What we got: Yellow curry, eh. Ok. No spice. The pad Thai? Arrived in a round aluminum container which my friend dumped over onto a large plate. The bottom of the box (now the top of the meal) was simply COVERED with red pepper (cayenne) that I've NEVER seen in any Thai restaurant before, ever. I mean, the food was RED. The bottom of the box must have been COVERED with cayenne. Just smattered in the box before the noodles. Where was the shrimp? Maybe it was so jumbo it didn't fit in the box? Who knows? I didn't see anything but a big blob of gross that made me start sneezing for AT LEAST 30 minutes. It was so bad I had to go outside as it was in the air, everywhere. The worst meal I have had, bar none. Simply inedible. Right in the trash. Cost me $18.95 PLUS fees for Grubhub. The curry was ok. Too bad they spiced the wrong dish and too bad they have NO IDEA what they're doing. How I know this? I went there a few months ago, maybe six? (used to be THE BEST Thai in Knoxville, hands down, then it sold during COVID) for dinner and the guy behind the counter taking orders said to me when I asked what curry was his favorite, "How do I know? I don't eat this food, you should ask my wife," who LOOKED Thai and maybe????? It was the most stunning restaurant moment I have in recent memory......and after this horrible inedible experience, food so grossly overspiced WITH THE WRONG KINDA SPICE they should seriously think of selling. Or get whoever the "chef" was outta the kitchen, STAT. After sitting outside for 30 minutes or more, I came back in and put the curry in the fridge. Just over it. Ate a small sampling yesterday (Saturday) and tossed the rest. I'm warning you folks, try anything but this place. I HATE saying this but it is the absolute truth. Total cost of meal? $50.00. Thanks, spice guy. Thanks,...

I don’t leave many reviews, but after today’s experience at Jai Dee Thai Kitchen on Clinton Hwy, I felt compelled to share. After Doordash completely messed up my order and refused a refund, I drove to the restaurant with the receipt and the incorrect food in hand—frustrated, to say the least.
To my surprise, the owner himself and his son came out to personally handle the situation. They were incredibly kind, apologetic, and professional. Without hesitation or fuss, they remade my entire order, and even gifted me a souvenir cup and water canteen as an apology for the inconvenience. I regret not catching their names, because they deserve personal recognition. Their hospitality and grace completely turned my day around.
Now, let’s talk about the food—because WOW. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The shrimp dim sum dumplings were not only flavorful but plated like a work of art. The spring rolls were perfectly crisp—not greasy at all—and paired perfectly with both the plum sauce and their outstanding peanut sauce. The crispy chicken entrée was so good, even my toddler kept asking for more (and we all know toddlers are the toughest critics).
I walked in annoyed that I had to make the drive—but I walked out a loyal fan and promoter of this amazing local business. If you're looking for authentic Thai food in Knoxville, outstanding customer service, and a family-owned spot that truly cares, Jai Dee Thai Kitchen on Clinton Highway is where it’s at.

Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews. Especially to a place I love so much and frequent often. The food is great. However, this time I ordered off Uber Eats and got my food and after several delicious bites… I gashed my mouth open in two places after chomping down onto a sharp piece of broken glass that was in my food. I then didn’t feel comfortable eating the rest of my food. So I decided to throw it out. I called Jai Dee and it went straight to voicemail, so I left a message and no one got back to me. When I contacted Uber Eats about the issue they wouldn’t do anything about it and said my pictures didn’t line up with my issue?? What do you mean? I sent pictures of my food and the glass that I pulled from my mouth. So then I tried again to report it through Uber Eats hoping for a different outcome but to no surprise they didn’t do anything again. I ordered Tiger Shrimp Pad Thai. That came with an app and I got the Gyoza. I also ordered a large salad, one spring roll, and peach sticky rice. I’d say 80% of my food went into the trash because I didn’t see the glass the first time and I was uncomfortable continuing to eat from a place that had just gashed the gums of my mouth open and afraid there was more...
