Usually delicious food, usually the service is great! I have to say tho the pork chops don't taste the same, they were thin, hard and not edible, the manager was nice enough to allow a swap for another menu item, however there WAS a huge ordeal about adults not ordering off the kids menu and the older friend I was with had/has issues with food and even after explaining said they'd have to ask the owner if they could allow that then came back and said she needed a doctor's note ( when my mother's ladies group from church goes (well used to, after all this they stopped) in and they all eat off the kids menu,) smaller portions is all they can fit. Flash forward to bringing in the note from the doctor, the server said she was new and didn't know, would have to get a manager and the gal who responded to the table explained it was their policy to not do that as the age was stated on the menu very rude and matter of fact, unsure if she was really even a manager because when the woman in a managers shirt overheard her say that SHE interrupted (nicely) and told her when they have a doctors note it was ok and allowed her to order. This is a little ridiculous for a place who's food quality has taken a hit since White's Meat Mart had went out of business, oh yeah the tenderloins are different, they stopped serving their Au Gratin Whitefish dinner and both fish they have now TASTE like the smell of fishing all day, but the shrimp are good when the cook don't burn them is working. So disappointed for such a one...
Read moreIt's pretty difficult to find exceptional food quality and unique menu items in Kokomo, at least in my experience. I didn't feel like cooking and I decided to give something new a try. I don't know why I hadn't thought about Windmill Grill until now, but I'm definitely kicking myself in the ass for it.
Most of the time, local restaurants offer pretty decent food if you dine in. However, the general quality of their selections for takeout is lackadaisical to say the least. I can't say that same thing about Windmill Grill, and trust me I tried to find something wrong with it.
Even our takeout was awesome. My steak was cooked perfectly and I'm not sure I can honestly say I've ever tasted a better meatloaf in my life (sorry, Mom). My spouse and I found ourselves looking at one another with disbelief in our eyes as we both sopped up the last bit of juice on our plates with the complimentary roll.
I don't usually take the time to write reviews but I couldn't help myself. I was definitely impressed and I plan to order from there as often as my budget will allow. It's not that I hate cooking, it's just that a meal from Windmill Grill is worth every...
Read moreMy fried pork chops were drier than the Sahara Dessert. The mashed potatoes were ice cream scooped on the plate. Gravy was actually good. Mac n cheese tasted like noodles in cheese water. The appetizer was okay. The service was horrible. Every waitress would look down so no one could ask for anything I had no drink with my appetizer because I couldn't catch the attention of anyone to get me a refill. I had to wait until my food came out. Then never saw the waitress again and my husband ate his dinner with no drink because he then needed a refill lol. Food was bland, atmosphere was bland, and wait staff was bland. I spent 94 bucks for 3 people including the 10 percent tip because they still have to make a living. We got the sampler appetizer and for dinner my husband had a taco salad, my daughter had country fried chicken and I had the fried pork chops. All were equally bad and the price for all of it was a little high honestly. It was my first time there and I won't be back. The picture I took was all I had ate didn't even finish the 1 pork chop. I did not complain just ate enough to feel full because I was starving and the waitress...
